Odd comparison. But also, I'd have surely thought he'd be regarded by anyone who'd actually seen both of them play as a better player than Joseph Hungbo.
His level is lower Championship which is what we are. Don't blame him if he wants to leave, the club is a joke and sounds like he's been messed about. He could probably find a club similar to our level next season or a League 1 club aiming for promotion. Hope he stays but if not, good luck to him.
How has he been messed about? Over the years he has been here he has done far better out of the club than the club has done out of him.
Him leaving is only okay if a better replacement is brought in. I'm sure I'm not alone in lacking confidence of that happening. Every transfer window now for what seems like years I kid myself that they won't be stupid this time and will actually make some proper signings, only to be let down by the dross that comes through the door. I'll be amazed if the next window is even on par with the last despite all the nonsense that will be spouted by the club. Hope I'm wrong.
The only positive is that it really, really shouldn't be too difficult not to be worse in the transfer market than last summer, especially when it comes to the loan market
Treated poorly and messed about? Poor thing. And all for a few measly thousands each week and being cosseted like a little prince. Put ME in charge. Go on. Gissa a job. As well as my reversion to the long ball game, with wingers and a big lanky centre forward (maybe even Raj) accompanied by a little nippy goal scorer striker, my FIRST action will be to CANCEL all summer holidays and breaks. Everyone off to CUMBRIA for a muddy fortnight under canvas on the fells, with HILL running and FREEZING lake swimming by day and sausages roasted on sticks over the campfire and a good sing song before lights out. He who wants to stay can stay. He who wants to go can go. Let's see who's proper men amongst ye!
If you're wrong and our fears are realised, we'll do well to avoid the drop so lets hope by some miracle the new recruitment team (whoever that is) are better than the previous.
Sigh. Probably inevitable given he counts as homegrown but really not good enough for top end Championship.
Probably a good thing considering we are predicted to be nowhere near the 'top end' of the Champ come May next year.
With Livermore already off (admittedly, he would have been nothing more than an impact sub), and Kayembe and Kone linked with moves away (and of course Asprilla, albeit he plays further up the pitch than TDB is likely to), I'm happy enough to keep TDB, he's done well under Clev and it'd be risky to completely overhaul the midfield
I’ve said it before - TDB is exactly the kind of player we need to give a contract extension. People seem to forget that he’s just had one proper full season with us and seems perfectly fine for this level. He’s only 24, so logically should be getting better and peaking within the next couple of years.
He’s crap. Offering him a new deal is just as stupid as offering Ngakia a new contract. Both useless and both are league 1 at best.
I presume he hadn’t looked outside the window first before getting dressed .. https://x.com/WatfordFC/status/1805165524512317509
AL says he’s signed a new 3-year deal (but also says it’s to 2028 - so a 3-year extension making it a 4-year deal?)
Tremendous work getting a contract extension out of his first good two month spell in his whole career here.
