As for the coaching side, Cleverley seems a nice chap but has absolutely zero track record, this other guy is coming from a different league where let's be honest, none of us have any idea what he did or was responsible for. Maybe Pozzo will land on a winning coaching combination and also provide them with a decent squad, who knows? I'm happy to throw my lot in with complete punt Tom and a random Spaniard as no-one else has got a tune out of our squad for the last three seasons - if it works then great, if not, another shrug of the shoulders and get the next no mark off the conveyor belt. I don't really blame any of our recent coaches for our performances (not even Hodgson, dislikeable as he was) - they've all been given the task of turd polishing garbage squads.

That is my major concern for the upcoming season. Our strike force is powder puff and there was a reason most of our goals came from outside of the box or midfielders. Bayo is a good holding player but his finishing is still League One level at times. Raj is a big unit and is very good at finishing a move that he can reach in the box, but despite a favourable improvement on his touch and general game, he is still far from the finished article. Saying that, can I really see us having the funds to pluck even a half decent striker before August? No.

Agreed. As Brian Clough said of his centre forward - “your job is to hold up the ball and to pass it to someone who can play”. Of course Clough meant a team mate who can play. Poor old Bayo tends to get the ball and lays it off to the opposition. Oh for a Danny Graham or Keith Mercer in the squad as a centre forward option.

It’s bizarre. We don’t have enough bodies behind the scenes in key roles as it is - but the one we do have, they’ve spread more thinly! And also appointed a seperate Club Technical/Sporting Director at the same time but left us without one…. I really hope Gino hasn’t looked at it and thought - ‘we don’t need one, Mogi does a lot of it for me…’
