Are you sure they weren't Diwali lights, it's popular for Hindus to put up fairy lights for the festival of light in early November, though they won't have reindeer and other shyt.

We have a house in my town that genuinely has Christmas illuminations up all year round.

More utter madness from my insurance company, due for renewal in a couple of weeks or so and had my renewal quote through with an increase of £450 despite no changes, claims etc.

Give them a ring to query this and oh that’s correct apparently. I politely tell the chap that having searched online I can take out a a policy with THEM as a new customer that’s £350 LESS than what I’m currently paying.

Utterly baffling industry

 

Despite all my senses telling me not to do it I entered Car Planet Watford today to test drive a car there. Quite liked the car and said so. Saleman, (child), took me into the office by way of a diversion. What was the diversion? A specially setup room where they try to sell you all the utter sh*t that they make their money from.
Sh*t 3 year platinum arranty
Sh*t dashcam installation
Sh*t paint coating
Sh*t upholstry protection
Sh*t dent and scratch cover

Immediately I said I'm not buying any of it, let;s just go discuss the car. So he procedes to lecture me on all of it. Tw*t.
We go to the office and sit down, he produces a list of what all the extras cost along with the car price and says let's discuss this. I said no, let's not.
He then asked me why I didn't want the sh*t 3 year Platinum warranty.

I told him I researched it and it wasn't worth the paper he put in front of me, plus the car I was looking at had a manufacturer 7 year / 100,000 mile warranty built in.
He told me why I was wrong.

I walked. Listen to your senses and don't go to Car Planet Watford.

This happened to me in March. I got my notification that my car insurance will go up by 38%. I get a new quote via uSwitch for the same company for only £5 more than I was paying, so I applied and then cancelled the auto-renewal on the existing one, so I got the same cover and no doubt uSwitch pick up some fees from esure for their trouble.

 

Don't panic dear! It's only a renewal!
