We used to frequently go up London to The Cross and Bagley's nightclubs in Kings Cross. Brilliant clubs, brilliant nights. The whole area is totally unrecognisable now as a result of gentrification.

Ugh. Every person I ever saw with one looked like they belonged on a register.

 

People walking round talking into Bluetooth headsets. Self important attention seekers, the lot of them.

 

Chuggers. Seem to be fewer of them at least. Hopefully charities have got the message that people don’t like it.

 

I passed a couple of them in London at the weekend. Lurking round a corner slightly off the main drag near Aldgate East tube. One wafting a bucket around asking if we'd give anything for a food bank, which seemed a bit odd.

 

There's always some round the entrance to Farringdon station. Heard one say yesterday "can I just have 30 seconds of your time. I promise you'll still catch your train". F*** off.

 

They're always at Waterloo it seems. They don't seem to understand people are in a rush to catch a train

 

Replaced by people on video calls holding their phones out in front of them. I do not want to hear thier conversations, I wish they would use ear buds or better still just talk on the phone normally.

 

Especially at sunset.

 

I know, so frustrating. Couldn't escape if I wanted to. And now it seems my only chance is giving up the fight.

 

Equally, people trying to get me to change my utility provider are always hanging around the entrance of the local Asda.

Agree about not wanting to hear the person they're speaking to but otherwise video calling like that surely is normal?

 

Holding your private conversation on speaker in public is not normal. It may be a common thing to see, but should not be normal.

You’re agreeing with me then. I just don’t agree video calling is any more intrusive to others than a normal telephone call as long as the person on the other end can’t be heard.

 

They’re all intrusive to others. Why should people put up with hearing people details of people’s personal lives just because they happen to be unfortunate enough to be sat near them on a bus or a train?

It’s a complete bane of modern technology and it genuinely surprises me that social attitudes have changed so much so quickly that this is somehow now acceptable behaviour. I wouldn’t conduct an argument with my wife in public in full hearing of everyone and I doubt many others would, so why is it somehow OK to do this if you are on a phone?

I don't think there has ever been a game n history that couldn't have used a patch.

Sure, most early ones didn't get them. We lived with unpatched bugs as a reality, but it wasn't like they couldn't have used them!

 

I think is said something similar before. Just wanna buy a game and that is it. A self contained game where I can play it and finish it. Maybe finish it several different ways and not need to spend real money on coins, or gems, or treasure, or loot to buy weapons or skins or character power ups.

I don't wanna improve my character. I wanna just control them and kill some Soviet soldiers.
