If you're lucky, they'll share their egg and cress sandwiches that have been sitting at the bottom of their bag for the last 9 hours.
Yes. I walked past the queue on my way to work yesterday and there were portaloos. Quite a few outside Tate Modern but that could have been an art installation I suppose
Seems they've closed The Queue™ and so there's now a queue to join The Queue™. It all sounds awfully British but unless a baby is born in The Queue™ and/or there's a successful marriage proposal it really isn't hitting the heights.

Remember, remember the 8th of September: https://twitter.com/JonathanPieNews/status/1569814325518340096
Food bank trolley next to a framed picture of the queen and some flowers in my local Morrisons. Sums the current madness up.
Might have to to wait till William becomes king as he is more of a football fan but give it 10-15 years.
Talking Lion’s mane, Shetland actor and legend in his own lunchtime, Dougie There’s been another muddah’ Henshall provoking a Twitterstorm by suggesting the Queen is not in her coffin and asking does it matter if she is or not? Small riots kick off. https://twitter.com/djhenshall/status/1570686517290627072?s=46&t=5VOhF-8EgnjZJMF475Zb9A
Seeing the homeless on the streets in dirty and tattered sleeping bags in and around Westminster the other day while the masses go past them without a thought sums it up. Getting bored of it all. The Queen had such a special smile. Really ? What was unique about it ? I enjoy it when anyone smiles especially my wife. And as if somehow there is a special quality to the mourning of the Royal Family. On a human level of course one does feel for the family and her children and those that were close to her. But grief at the death of a loved one is universal. It's not any different for the rest of us so called (something that grinds my gears) 'ordinary' folk. And one other thing. After seeing the vandalism of West Herts College art projects in the library subway by mindless yobs I was in London and saw a set of street murals that had been defaced and sprayed over with graffiti. Yobs without a modicum or artistic ability destroying some rather interesting and aesthetically pleasing work that took time to create. Ruined in a matter of seconds. People like this should be caught and made to spend years cleaning graffiti away. A veritable eyesore.
It's almost entirely performative. My Dad died in June and the proximity of that to the Queen's passing just highlights what a deeply weird week or so this has been. In normal society, when someone close to us dies we go about the business of organising a funeral and comforting our loved ones and while many employers are sympathetic and may offer bereavement leave in the main life goes on. The phone still rings, the post still arrives, the bills are still due. There is space and understanding *up to a point* at what for most of us is a very upsetting time but that's it. We are quietly expected to get back to *normal* relatively quickly and mostly that is fine. And then there's this. The choreography of grieving, the wall-to-wall media coverage that suggests this is the only story in town when it patently is not, the insistence that everyone feels the same way (or that they should) – corporations treading on eggshells, and the complete ignorance of the issues surrounding why certain people may not view the British Crown in anything other than glowing terms.
Sorry for your loss. You can understand the BBC (on one channel ) having to show endless coverage of all the events but not all the commercial ones. ITV have got a wipeout on all their channels for tomorrow from 6am to midnight !! Even the BBC have got alternatives on later in the evening. Probably afraid they will upset someone by not showing any coverage I guess .
Given that Her Majesty is proving such a popular tourist attraction why not keep her there permanently? I think the London Eye was originally only supposed to be temporary but stayed due to the demand from the public
Both of them. Some PR person must have decided that supporting Villa hit all the key demographics, though famously Cameron couldn’t remember who he supported.
Wiiliam has always supported Villa. https://metro.co.uk/2022/09/18/which-football-team-does-prince-william-support-17398174/ https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2017/10...lla-apprentices-hospitality-pix-fear-marathon
