The defeat at home to Villa was the killer and losing to Norwich .

Yes. Burnley won more games without Dyche than with him. So I think they will feel justified in getting rid. They got themselves in a position to stay up but blew it at the death.

January signings can transform a season but you have to say their big investment in Weghorst spectacularly backfired.

Seems to be a lot of defence for Dyche in general despite him being terrible.

How small are the margins eh. Suddenly Leeds firing Bielsa seems a smart move, whereas had results gone the other way today then it would have seemed foolhardy.

Granted, they got the new manager bounce which they probably wouldn't have got had they kept Dyche, but I wonder if they'd have got a proper manager in rather than promote their #2, would they have stayed up?

Meh. They sold Wood for a good price and brought in Weghorst who still contributed much more than our idiotic signings Kalu and Kayembe.

They didn't though, under Jackson they won three games, all of them near the start and haven't won since beating us at the Vic, whereas Dyche won four.

Of course Jackson's win percentage is considerably better but 13% isn't hard to improve on. And Leeds hired someone who did actually have managerial experience...

He scored 2 goals in 20 appearances. Which considering he was signed to score the goals to keep them up, I’d say means his signing backfired.

    I get your point though.

Yes I meant as a % of matches played. Win ratio

Where have I heard that ‘not won until they played us/ or since they played us’ before ;)

After yet another big defeat it would be interesting to know what Norwich fans feel about their season. Are they feeling the same mixture of rage and despondency as us, or are expectations still lower?

    "I'd long gone by then.

Before this season I'd only ever left a game early once, Ipswich when for some reason they were housed in the Upper Barclay and they'd gone 2 up in the 90th minute, I've now done it 4 times.

Without doubt, the least enjoyable season in our history where I've never felt such a disconnect with the club and yes I'm including that Championship relegation before anyone pipes up."

I'm sure there's a post with the exact same sentiments on here too.

The last 4 games after that originally little run did for them but yes hardly say they would have stayed up with Dyche in charge.

Had they stay up it would have been seen as a master stroke .

    I know mate, it's shocking isn't it.

I've even seen some Everton fans on twitter denying it.

Just think. We lost 0-3 at home to a team that finished on 22 points with a GD of -61. Wow.

And they'll probably say they lost to a team 3-1 who finished a point ahead of them despite losing 15 home games..

    Both teams had nightmare seasons.

But while they are merely woefully inadequate for the Prem, you'd have to fancy them to bounce back, especially as they aren't going to be as cash-strapped as us

Probably true and a proven manager at that level to an extent who will be allowed to bring his own players in and won't be under pressure unless Norwich start really badly

Commentators saying that Capoue is controlling the midfield v Barcelona and could be in the team of the season. Looking forward to him and Alcacer returning from their loans from Villarreal. We should get Perotti back too as Salernitana are being destroyed by our B team.

I'm not sure about the bringing his own players thing, but they won't be under much pressure as there is no immediate financial need to get promoted

Weghorst will tear the Championship a new one if they keep him.

No he won’t, Burnley are finished. Early prediction, they will be fighting relegation next season in the championship. If people think our finances are a mess, go look at Burnley’s. It’s well reported that relegation to the championship would basically mean Burnley owe a huge amount of money immediately after relegation is confirmed to the banks as some sort of agreement in place.

No chance Pope, McNeil, Cornet, aren’t sold to try and make up the finances owed. Pope’s contract expires next year. Tarkowski is off an free, along with about 8 or 9 of their other players whose contracts run out in June.

  31. Well I missed most of the action yesterday due to being in another country and having the worst stream ever.

I also fell asleep around half time after drinking since 10am (12am local time) a lot of pool beers, a few blue lagoon cocktails and a Pina colada.

In any case. Excellent that the title went to city and not Liverpool.

Shame it was Burnley and not Leeds as I genuinely think Leeds would lose a lot of players next year. Saying that perhaps Burnley are average anyway so even if the keep a lot of their team they may still struggle.

Not that I think we'll do particularly well but it all helps!

But it sounds like I missed a really dramatic day unfortunately. I guess I'll drown it out by having another beer by the pool.

    Gar*on!

During the final day highlights on MotD the commentator for Brentford v Leeds said the two clubs don’t get on. I must have missed this. Does anyone know the history of it?
Also, Callum Wilson seemed to really enjoy celebrating his penalty in front of the Burnley fans. Is there history between them too?

I saw him play for AZ Alkmaar about five seasons ago and not much has changed. He performed well for Wolfsburg mind.

They were both in the hunt for promotion from the Champ in 19/20, Thomas Frank had a lot to say for himself about Leeds as he always does
