I'd wanted Bielik in the past but the guy seems like a complete crock now.

A PL club with financing arrangements with MSD Capital? Southampton, West Ham and Burnley I think have a lot of MSD financing.

 

Basically hit the nail on the head, but not PL. Spezia are owned by the guy who owns MSD, so they get first dibs on any players if clubs can't pay up. Could probably take the club over as all the loans are backed against the stadiums + training grounds but Derby are such a mess that I think they'll try and avoid that one. Think that's most likely their long-term play to get an English club on the cheap, plenty of rumours that Southampton are running low on cash and think MSD would be very interested in a deal there if one could be negotiated.

 

According to this (https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...h-clubs-are-turning-to-high-interest-us-loans), Southampton have a 78m loan at over 9% interest to MSD secured against St Mary's so MSD very well-placed to take over there too. I wonder if Sibley or Knight would do well in Serie A - the former seems like he might be more suited to Italian football than the PL. Bielik strikes me as their only asset who is actually PL ready but his injury record depresses his valuation significantly.

I have a little bit of extra timber these days and a bad left knee but reckon I could do a job. Looking for a 5 year contract at aged 48 which might be an issue at some clubs but shouldn't be a problem here

Why the heck is it starting so early this year? And why are those 4 teams playing this weekend when none of the other games are until 10/11th August?

 

I looked this up yesterday as I noticed it too. Apparently the EFL gave clubs the choice to move their R1 fixtures forward to this weekend. Looks like only 4 opted for it.

 

There was a period years ago when the League Cup used to start the weekend before the league season. The leagues below the PL of course begin next weekend.

However, Warnock claimed that he "is not [...] interested" in any of the players on the list. It could be though that if/when he misses out on loaning Liam Delap then he'll come in for one of them.

 

Gray, Penaranda, Success and Perica all go to Boro on a loan 1 get 3 free deal.

Muff team and bench seems much weaker now than last season. Still a threat but not the same depth.
