I didn’t realise Querns has a ladies tournament now .

Will it be as popular ?

Not with the members it won't!

They loathe and detest the ATP event so there was a near mutiny when this was accepted.

Remember it takes the main body of their grass out for about six weeks.

Guess the money is needed for club revenue but yes that is unfortunate particularly as there isn’t enough time in the year for grass court tennis due to our climate .

Never been but understand it’s even more elite than Wimbledon?

    I despise Queen's.

It is a beautiful club, historic and everyone should try to visit if possible.

However it is run by Old Etonian twits and they have caused Mr IBP an extraordinary amount of grief in the last twenty years.

The ladies team all hate each other too!

Raducanu had a lead in the second set but Zheng too strong overall.

Tatjana Maria with an impressive win v Rybakina

    Maria is a throwback.

Slices and dices and against the robotic Rybakina it would mess up her circuits!

Saw a little of ER v Zheng and Zheng was just better at it on the day, very iffy serve notwithstanding.

Rybakina is sadly starting to look more and more like a one-slam wonder, albeit with a losing final too afterwards.

    And again!

    Well played T M!

A triumph of days gone by when it wasn't wrong to slice.

Refreshing to change the doctrine of 'back around to find your forehand and never go near the net.

Wrong Keovathong. Not ' winning ugly' but ' winning smart'.

As Bill Tilden said over a century ago " I'll play my own sweet game".

Too right the father of modern tennis!

Sam Smith does not sound like she used to!

I've known her since she was 12 and she definitely sounds different.

Didn't recognise her until the caption told me.

    Been a funny old week!

Mertens wins in Holland defeating the qualifier Ruse.

Mertens has now won a title on hard, clay and grass an impressive accolade.

Yesterday she saved 11 mps against Alexandrova.

What a week for Tatyana Maria.

Spins her web and traps poor Amanda Anisomova in it.

Came over one forehand in the whole match.

Anisomova was heard to ask her coach to order her a slice backhand and a smash on Amazon asap.

Two tickets for the Eastbourne final given to me by the LTA.

    Thank you.

Transferring them to a player and her mother is a Sisyphean task and more.

The LTA have many good people and excellent aspects.

    IT is not amongst them.

I always wonder what it takes to make somebody send a message saying I hope you get cancer or hope you die. It's totally beyond me but very much suspect it's a coward who wouldn't ever say it to somebody's face. Social media needs to do something about this

Horrible, unacceptable and sadly not unknown.

There are numerous people in tennis who are gambling addicts.

Tennis like football allows time in between competition and if you are a coach time off court to place bets.

We have a coach who is constantly checking his phone. He's an addict.

A former colleague, whose father was a double winning footballer who was a gambler, inherited his father's addiction and would be out into the town at every opportunity. This was before it became online and so much easier.

I know a chap, made a fortune as a broker but desperately wanted to work in tennis.

Worked in a county office and was found to be spending all his time spread betting on the tour in all its various guises.

The Boulters are a lovely family and well done to Katie for going public.

Sad to see such a talented player as Jenson Brooksby incapacitated by a rotator cuff injury to the extent he's serving like a 10& under.

Sadly, it's just the nature of the world today. I post a little on Facebook, though hardly ever on Twitter and it's just the norm. Someone disagrees with you, say on your opinion on how best to make a bolognese sauce, and their go to response is to call you a nonce or something. It's just how a certain demographic interact with the world nowadays. The other day, I made a comment about tipping on some thread and a random stranger's first response was to say he hoped my kids died so they wouldn't grow up like me. Can you imagine the thought process that person goes through to comment that?

These people are everywhere now and social media has normalised being an utter **** to anyone and everyone you don't agree with, on any topic.

I don't take any of it seriously and treat these people as the NPCs they are. I don't indulge in any serious discussion on any SM platform, except around the topics of Bargain Hunt and WFC, as it's simply not worth it. Whenever I do go onto twitter, it's an immediate assault to the senses as people with different opinions shout obscenities with their fingers at strangers they know nothing about.

I don't think it's unique to females, tennis players, sports stars or public figures. It's just the standard dialogue these days on social media.
