Stramkova is no mug although Paolini dismissed her comfortably and Italy completed one half of a double, with ease.

You could say, although the cloud hangs over Sinner and Darren Cahill who is his coach and was Halep's too.

    The United Cup is underway.
Live mixed as Greece play Spain.
Sakkari has fallen off a cliff and was humiliated 2&1 in her singles.
Tsitsi checked out in the second set v Careno Busta but regrouped to win 3 in the third.

    Argentina beat Aussies.

GB yet to play in the above group.

Outrageous drop shot from Fernandez against Gauff.

Has to be so if Coco can't track it down.

First set on tie break,Mrs D.
Excellent ball striking bit the lack of variety is palpable.
Hardly any change of pace or spin.
A brilliant exhibition of the modern female game plan of ' Hard, harder, hardest.'

Swiatek using all of her gamesmanship wins in three.

Admirable player but hard to warm to as a person.

  23. I Blame Pozzo

    I Blame Pozzo First Team

By way of contrast to the Swiatek and Boulter slugfest, Muchova beat Paolini 2&2.

Slice and approach, volleying like Laver and serving smoothly it was a lesson on all court, effortless tennis.

    Sublime.

    Poland into the final.

US 1-0 but Mahac a set up on Baby Fritz.

    Extraordinary.
Mahac from a set and 5-2 up retires at 5-6 down.
Clearly suffering physically but an utter meltdown emotionally having lost his serve at 5-3.
Screaming at himself and his captain at the change of ends instead of taking on energy and resting.
Sush a shame as he'd played brilliantly until then.

Gauff impressive in 4&4 win over Swiatek.

Fritz a set up on Hurkacz.

And finally, set all,5 all,30 all, Swiatek returns courtside to support her team.

Gauff has been there for some time.

    Team game Iga.

To play the way Cam plays is extremely manual.
He played a large number of matches in 2023 and did very well.
He then had a number of points to defend which of course adds pressure.
He had a few injuries and players had worked him out.
He played above his level I believe. He's where he should be given his talent.
Not sure he can return to top 20. So many talented players coming through.
The tour is ridiculous in its strength and depth.

Dart and Harris lose final round of qualies.

    Kyrgios won't play.
    Injured.
Some intriguing first rounds as ever. Fritz v Nakashima and Paul v another American,JJ Woolf or Brooksby I think ,who has slipped off the rankings, almost as soon Murray tipped him for top 10!

    Age no barrier for some.

“Monfils defeated an opponent half his age to reach his 35th ATP final and become the second-oldest men's singles finalist* since the ATP tour started in 1990.”

True although Gael has spent so long injured that although chronologically he is late 30s, playing wise he's nearer 25!
