If I might suggest, average points seems a little generous for someone who doesn't bother to post.
Why not a standard default 10 or 12 points ie something at the lower end of the scores ?

Ok for late starters they can join on the lowest points total, I shall send a message later to all that haven't predicted and were in last seasons competition, so they know a competition is set up and running! looking after the grandchildren today so time is limited!
