I certainly remember them being ‘The Orient’. Being sold to the Orient now means a mega bucks deal at Shanghai.
Very true. Gosling imo was bought in at a vital time last season, did what was needed of him and did nothing more than ok. As you said if either he or Cleves is starting we're in for a struggle. They're nothing more than the odd 20 minute cameo performances when needed from the bench.
As it stands I think the team vs Villa will be Bachman Ngakia Rose Sierralta WTE Etebo Louazza Gosling Sarr Hernandez King
I'd be surprised if Rose stared over Masina. Would strongly prefer Cleverley over Gosling, although would really prefer neither.
We got away with it last season when we started with a squad that wasn't settled. Looks like we'll be doing the same this season the same way, playing the first few games not knowing who is going to be in the squad and probably with our two best starting midfielders from last season in limbo. Last season was ok because Ivic did well to get points on the board with half a squad, and because the Championship is mainly crap. Doubt we'll be so lucky this time.
Bachmann Ngakia Troost Sierralta Masina Etebo Louza Cleverley Sarr Deeney Cucho Subs: Foster, Cathcart, Rose, Gosling, Sema, Dennis, King
B N S TE M L E C S C S If all our new 'hungry young signings' come good and Hughes stays my dream team when everyone's fit would be: B K S TE R E H L S JP Dennis
Yep, and the thing is our first 6 or 7 games are quite favourable for us, a newly promoted team. It'd be a right pain in the hole to waste them and see vital points slip away due to an unsettled team. Queue Hughes and Chalobah being reintegrated and match fit just in time for Liverpool (h)
The team I think will play: Bachmann Kiko TE Sierralta Masina Zinkernagel Etebo Gosling Sarr Deeney Cucho The team I would like to play: Bachmann Kiko Kabasele Sierralta Rose Hughes Chalobah Etebo Sarr Cucho King
I get the feeling from the first half of the Donny game we will see a front 3 of Sarr, Deeney and Sema, although we will probably have a better idea on Saturday. I would be disappointed if Sema starts - we have brought in some more exciting, talented players (particularly Cucho), and we know from last time how poor Sema is in the prem. I also feel in a 4-3-3 where the wingers have little-to-no defensive duties and only think about going forward Sema will perform worse than he did in Javi's 4-2-2-2.
Nailed on unfortunately. Our only hope is somebody has a screamer against Palace if and it's a big if Deeknee doesn't start.
I'd expect 5 changes from the friendly today. Bachmann Ngakia > Kiko Troost Cathcart > Sierralta Rose > Masina Etebo Cleverley Sema > Kucka Sarr Cucho > Deeney Dennis/Cucho Think Louza will take a while before he's starting games because the Watford heirarchy love Cleverley. Deeney will also start because he owns said heirarchy.
Based on today: Bachmann Femenia Troost-Ekong Sierralta Masina Etebo Louza Cleverley Sarr Cucho Dennis (I imagine XM will go with Deeney over Dennis and Cathcart instead of Sierralta)
Agree on the first point but think Sierralta will play . Surely a 10 million pound midfielder was signed to start ?
How can anyone be worse than one goal from open play in a championship season? And I’m counting the players that aren’t actually strikers in that as well.
The only way I would use TD this season is as a "Hail Mary" late sub if we are chasing a game and nobody else looks like scoring, as he might just get lucky you never know
