The wolf prowled the edge of the survivor’s encampment, sticking to the shadows. Saliva dripped from the corner of his mouth, and his long tongue lolled out. It was very hungry. A handful of campfires provided illumination, and the wolf could make out the huddled form of crew members lying scattered around the fires. It had picked a target, Steve Leo Beleck. Prowling the edge of the light looking for his target, the wolf didn't hear the figure sneaking up behind it. Suddenly a plank of wood slam across its back. The plank shattered, and the wolf turned quickly. The Guardian swore quietly, as the wolf took a couple of quick steps towards him. The wolf swiped with its paw, but the guardian ducked the blow and made a swipe at the wolfs arm with a small dagger. He drew blood, and the wolf groaned in pain. Enraged it charged at the guardian and knocked him flat before charging off into the forest.

Heidar had awoke at the sound of the scuffle and strode quickly out of the encapement towards the noise. Just in time he saw a cloaked figure disappearing into the darkness. ‘Hey wait!’ he whispered as loudly as he dared. The figure didn’t stop and disappeared into the shadows of the forest. ‘Damn, I was nearly onto something,’ he muttered. He turned to walk back towards the light of the fire, but found his view obscured by something big and hairy. Two big and hairy things actually. He gulped. ‘Lovely night for a walk folks,’ he managed to squeak. It was the last thing that ever left his lips, as the larger of the wolves swiped his head off with a flick of the wrist. The two wolves pulled the body a short way away from the fires into the wood and settled down for a nice snack.

Heidar was DEAD. Heidar was GOOD.

RIP Heidar, great call by the guardian! Only two wolf attacks, interesting, was Otter the Beta wolf?

    RIP Heidar.

So am I reading this right?

3 Wolves - 1 went for SLB who was protected by the Guardian. The other 2 both went for Heidar?

Rereading it I think you are, my mistake Otter must have been the traitor.

Tremendous work from the Guardian, much appreciated! Thought I'd be a target as had been outspoken all of yesterday so they'd know I was good.

So... three wolves confirmed, two of whom now each others' identity. And given the write up of Otter's death, does sound like he was more likely to be a fourth wolf. So probably still a traitor in the mix, meaning that three of Team Evil now know who each other are (well, two know one other and one knows all three wolves). Need to look out for people co-ordinating today.

If the genuine Seer viewed Cassetti and by some bad luck he was the Tinker, essential they confirm this this morning.

I think we need to come to a view on whether we think Otter was the traitor or a fourth wolf. I'm really not sure.

    Good Morning Islanders, RIP Heidar

Good work by the guardian, to lose just 1 person over night is a bit of a bonus.

If there are still 3 wolves out there, there is it pretty certain that Otter was the Traitor
The bad news is that two of the wolves now know each other.

We also know that the seer viewed Harrow yesterday, so he and Cthulhu are both good.

    Potential traitor alert.

As I said on three occasions yesterday, according to all websites online, there will be a ratio of an evil player every 4 villagers.

So the game likely started with 4 wolves and a traitor.

    Likely but not conclusive.

RIP Heidar. Sounds like we have gotten away lightly there with just one more member of team good down.

Messages today will be key. We either have the wolf's message leading us to Cassetti's Beard, or he was the Tinker and the second message was actually from our Seer. The odds there looked remote, but it may well be the case.

The red eyes of the wolf stared down at Otter for a second before a clawed paw rammed downwards into Otters chest and pulled his heart clean out. The wolf liked hearts, so damn tasty. He took a deep bite, but spat the offal out in disgust. It tasted terrible. OTTER WAS EVIL.

This is the description of Otter's demise. Did he taste disgusting as he was another wolf or because a traitor would taste different to a normal villager? Offal is not a term used for humans, that's why I think he was a wolf.

Bad luck Heider but great work by the Guardian.
As I said yesterday, there was absolutely no reason for the seer to view CB so the message clearing Harrow must be true. It makes sense now that Otter was the traitor and on day 1 aligned himself with two "not evil" characters as part of the deception. I'd also claim that Ashdon is good if that is the case.

So who's been posting lame sh*t over the last 2 days, that's where we need the viewing today.

And we also know which of the messages is the seer now, it's been the first both days.

In three posts today you’ve given the wrong number of kills, then said Otter must have been the traitor and are now saying it’s likely there were 4 wolves.

Reads awfully like a traitor trying to take control of the game on day 3.

Stepping away from the context of the game, what are you saying makes no sense? That out of circa 18 players, the seer happening to stumble across the tinker isn't remote? That was all I was trying to say.

    You'd take those odds?

I'd be cautious into reading too much into that. There has to be some difference between evil characters and good, whether human or wolf. Opti also made a specific point of clarifying that wolves could kill each other. That might be just clarification in general or it might be because a wolf killed another wolf.

  21. Steve Leo Beleck

It sounded like you said the probability of it happening was very low but it may well have happened. Which sounds directly contradictory!

So what's your thought? Was he the traitor or a wolf?

  23. wfcmoog

    wfcmoog Tinpot

    It makes perfect sense.

Our pirate themed messages were from the Seer and the others from the Wolf, unless, the outside chance that Cassetti was the Tinker (17/1).

Based on that, it means we know that Cthulhu and Harrow are good.

On the whole an excellent night for team good. Great job guardian.

  25. wfcmoog

    wfcmoog Tinpot

My initial thought was wolf, as I posted before, but I think I'd been lulled into the general consensus that he was a traitor.

In terms of the game, what we DO know is that 2 wolves now know each other and will likely be colluding. If there's a 3rd evil player colluding with them, that would have to be the traitor still alive.

I wouldn't want to get too distracted by that though as I think we need to focus on finding the 3 definite wolves as a priority, rather than trying to winkle out a traitor who may or may not still exist at this stage.

Guardian did well. And only one wolf kill.

interpretation of and early messages today obviously useful

I think moog has stepped on my point a little.

Sure, it was a bit contradictory, but in two centuries time, there will be a pundit working in the sport of football called Michael Owen who does this on the regular, but still manages to make an insufferable career out of it.

  28. With A Smile

Whether Otter was the traitor or a wolf is almost immaterial now. The bottom line is that we still have 3 wolves and possibly a traitor. We could spend all day debating it, but we can only work with what we actually know, not with what we suspect.

It seems that we still have our seer, which is the most important thing.

So we know Harrow to be good, but we’re unsure about how many evil players there are (either 3 or 4 remaining, is that right?)

We had a result last night but feels like we can’t afford to get it wrong today. The Seer’s message is crucial.

Another good write up Opti, well done to the Guardian and not a bad evening for TeamGood.

Quick question as a Newbie - it's been mentioned that wolves know each other, how do we know they know each other? Is that guess work or is there some kind of rule you find out if you both attack the same person? Or another rule that would mean that's happened?

Also it's an interesting title "Greater Good". Layman terms is easy to speculate here. Good outweighs evil - so there is more of us than there is of them. But we knew that anyway.
