    Vydra could leave this summer.
Deeney had a very good season but it could easily have been a one season of greatness only for him to dwindle off next season (worst case scenario) but a possiblity.
Geijo really isn't that great, yes he played OK yesterday but was nothing special.
Forestieri isn't consistently scoring although does look like he could improve for next season.
Assombalonga really isn't a top Championship team standard but could be given a chance.

So where does that leave us?
Our strike force was our biggest asset this season, but next season it could be far worse. I doubt we will buy anyone, so hopefully someone can be signed on a free from Udinese/Granada? I think we could go into the season thinking we can rely on Deeney and FF, only for Deeney especially to disappoint. I'm very willing to be proved wrong though.

    Thoughts?

If we sign Vydra and a couple of strikers from Udinese, then it could be a great strike force next season. Wait and see !

Yes that is true, I guess I was basing it on a worst case scenario type idea, but in fact it could be even better than this season. Fair point.

I think you're being overly pessimistic:
Deeney - no reason he should not maintain his level of performance
Geijo - give him a proper run of games and then judge him
Forestieri - not an out and out striker but will score and create (IMHO)
Assombalonga - we really don't know yet what he will be capable of as he develops.

So, given that also our owners have resources to bring in fresh blood no cause for concern - I'm more worried about the defence.

Geijo should return to Granada.... talented player but not robust enough for the physical nature of the championship

Deeney - improved massively over the season. Had no pre season and was in jail still in early part of season so could score even more goals next season

Forestieri - Should get better with Zola's coaching, an exciting prospect

Britt is an unknown quantity but has promise and Bernard Mensah may come through

Most clubs would be happy with our forward talent, just need cover for Deeney

Maybe now we should get Carlton Cole?

    Why worry about it now?

Yes Vydra has been touted by a lot of clubs, but I don't think its a dead cert he is off in the summer. He may go back to Udinese, but which club is likely to stump up to the Pozzo's asking price - a move that would be considered risky.

I think Deeney has adapted brilliantly to the system and assuming Aston Villa don't make a move, he should have another great year next season. Its difficult to judge Geijo, he did well yesterday but ought to have hit his effort with more conviction, but can we really judge somebody who has only made about four starts?

Definetely another striker is needed, but Watford need to give Forestieri the no 10 shirt and build around him next season, though Chalobah is a great loss, even though - to be expected at 18 - he wasn't at his finest yesterday, but then again aside from Almunia and Doyley, who was?
