He just didnt give the bloke a chance, despite, plenty of opportunities. Berghuis had a great performance a few weeks ago after coming on as sub, and then gets dropped next match.

 

I give the Berghuis 'love in' a few games only until he starts and struggles to break down obstinate opponents. Was both excellent and a bit awful today and fickle fans may need to be patient with him.

 

What was the great performance a few weeks ago? Do you mean West Ham last week?

 

I reckon Quique doesn't fancy him for the same reason he doesn't really fancy Gueds, gives the ball away a lot, but only because he actually threatens to do something interesting. QSF all about control though, isn't he?

 

You can forgive a player easily for making mistakes if he's trying to be positive. He was a breath of fresh air. Nice to see someone playing the ball forward instead of backwards or sideways.

 

Could I also confirm that the chant "Berghuis in the middle of our street" is one of the worst chants I've ever heard in my life. Makes 0 sense and will make everyone who sings it looks like a ****.

It's simple. We'll score more goals with this guy in the side. We'll also concede more. Will it be a net positive or negative?

 

Not sure that's necessarily true. Attacking outlets relieve pressure from the defense, and sustained pressure leads to goals.

One of our greatest problems this season has been an inability to get out when under sustained pressure; at best, we hoof it up the field and it comes right back at us again.

I would sell him. One cross against a ten man team who are bottom the table. Yes I thought he had a nice spell against West Ham too, but I remember people screaming for Anthony McNamee to be playing every game, and what did he do in the end?

 

The guy has only just got his first few proper run outs and you're comparing him to Anthony McNamee. If anything give him more than an hour of football before you write him off maybe?

The best form of defence is attack.

 

So, adding an attacking winger adds to the goals scored AND means fewer conceded ? Don't think so ! We will score more and concede more. Will be interesting to see if QSF is brave enough to play him at Liverpool.

 

Berghuis seemed up for getting stuck in and would be more up for a challenge than Juardo would be, so not sure about this whole theory of our current players are defensive. Amrabat and Berghuis dont have to be top defensive players the just have to be willing to do the leg work to get back. Or you just the Leicester tactic and just make Kante (Berhami) to all of the defending Marhez should do.

Plus playing at least one of these 2 would actually give us a threat on the counter attack, which we haven't had all season. We also wouldn't have to watch Ighalo try and dribble round the other teams whole defence.

 

I didn't say we'd concede less.

I said I don't think you can come out and say we're guaranteed to concede more. It doesn't work like that.

Doesn't say much for the Dutch team that a guy with a total of about 150 minutes all season can get a call up! I'm happy for him though; played well when he finally got a bit of a run out at the end of the season and hopefully we'll see the best of him next season.

 

In fairness that's a two way thing.. They are probably saying what are Watford on, not playing him... Same as Layun winning the gold cup with Mexico and playing champions league football on loan cos he can't get in our side... Anya, scoring goals for Scotland and not really getting a game for us. Belkalem not even getting in our squad after a storming World Cup. I'm not saying we ve been totally wrong but .... Others might think so !

 

Yep a player binned by QSF for six months gets a Dutch call up. QSF was a hopeless ******.
