I thought the reduction was due to the space under the seats in the concourse being too small?

You’re right. After Leeds fans decided not to use the urinals they reduced it.

Good photo showing Harry contributing to the stadium works.

It's also good as it clearly shows the slope of the pitch. From were those two guys are standing the drop must be around 3 feet, but they're not standing as far up as the corner flag. It must be another foot by the time you get there.

It looks like they have two rows that can be added for the entire length of the GT stand, plus a few extra rows missing in the NE corner that are not obvious to see in this photo.

I think that the new windowed area behind the sej is for the security room and cctv control etc which was under the old screen in se corner.

Those rows were previously used but were removed under the current ownership because the view is awful. I can't imagine they're intending to reinstate them any time soon.

They might reinstate them. If you look to the left, you can see there are seats piled up on the back of the existing seats (on the second row). They've also removed the wall, so I think they could be putting them back. That's why Harry is doing his bit to make it clean and tidy.

Yes a overhanging second tier isnt out of the question but it still adds height and i believe the the EJ stand isnt designed to support such an addition.. it's a "kit" stand so to speak. What they could do is to build a free standing structure behind and cantilever a second tier over the existing one but it's costly to do so. Or of course take it down and build from scratch.
Looking at the build space behind the stand.. the GT stand is 30 meters deep. If you mirrored it on the East side it would be half way across Occupation Road in places. So if we are looking at a similar scale stand they will have to come up with some clever design to fit it in.

Bowwow came up trumps with the rendering from a few years back that ive been looking for. It was posted on Twitter in 2016 for a short period and i wondered if it was anything to do with the planning permission that was Abso posted about, which was also in 2016.
Guess we'll never know but if it was a genuine rendering and related to that PP we can get an idea of how tall such a stand might potentially be. Maybe that was why it didnt go through.

Can’t exactly remember, but wasn’t that stand concept part of the presentation from the company that did the shop / sensory room (or hospitality suite, as it was originally designed)?

I may be mistaken but I’m not sure this Had anything at all to do with planning submissions, just a suggested design concept

That's how I remember it too, I think it was a Spanish architect.

That could explain it. Bowwow thought it might have come from the Spanish architects that designed the EJ stand.. only i dont think they did as i believe it was designed and supplied by a British company.

Whoever produced it knew their football stadium renderings though.. especially as they included the obligatory hot air ballons & aircraft!

Yep, as the other guy said it was definitely a Spanish design outfit that did that retail store and hospitality block in the red lion corner (for those that still call it that!) and I seem to recall when the roof collapsed during that sunmer’s construction works, it was even a Spanish building co. contracted in to do the works

Sorry, I’ve gone a bit off topic here now

Actually that was a company called the ECS Group from St Albans.. https://www.ecsgroundwork.com/projects/watford-fc/

Stevohorn is correct it was ECS groundwork’s that the roof collapsed on over the club shop. A company from Granada did some internal work on the east stand floors walls and the like.
I am sure though not certain that Spanish architects or designers did a lot of work on the stadium.

I recall there was also some plans from an Italian architect firm. I cant recall what they were for but i'll see if i can find them.

Didnt the Italian firm come up with the repainted style of the stadium, like the the Vicarage Road face to the road and the occupation Road perimeter?

Ethical coffee shop to help further improve our image. Opening times may change on match day. May not be the choice of venue for some away fans-maybe Burnley, and Everton to think of two

    Thanks for posting this.

Interesting that nowhere that I could see does it note the owners of the member clubs.

Have I missed it or is this not important to the PL ? As long as they have lots of wonga and throw it at their clubs, they don’t give a rats @rse?

  29. UEA_Hornet

To be fair to the PL (I know, I know...), it's an operations handbook more than a legal register. Hence giving contact details for all sorts of employees with obscure job titles.

  30. Surprised the changes have added 1,800 seats, I would have guessed a couple of hundred in each corner and perhaps 500 in the main stand window boxes

The Vic Road capacity was reduced due to the facilities - maybe with the work on the corner they have upgraded these and as such they can sell a greater %'age of the family stand seats?

Yh but each club has listed the chairman and every other director and club officer almost down to tea boy/lady.
The only people left out are the owners which you’d think would be an important inclusion.

If they add the missing rows back to the lower Graham Taylor stand that will add quite a few to the total.

Has anyone spotted any more progress?, I am sure the builders are looking to be as complete as possible before this weekend game.
