Pretty expensive already if away tickets at Leeds are anything to go by

This is shocking and really goes to show the disdain that normal fans are shown at most clubs these days.

Same with the decline in reciprocal pricing for away tickets too. Andrew French wrote about it recently.

Say what you want about Gino , he’s been very decent on ticketing prices .

It’s the price a few cinema tickets for a child season ticket as well .

Their owners have dumped a load of high cost NFL players from the 49ers also. Someone's running out of cash.

Emailed the club today to cancel my season ticket.

Feel more liberated than FOMO that's for sure.

If Gino now sells up tomorrow to a rich ambitious owner.....

After Saturday's performance I think the team were told to encourage everyone to cancel.

Least the second half was more entertaining than usual .

After Cleverley heard the boos at HT.

The stupid TV agreement is going to impact season tickets at every EFL club this summer, no doubt about it.

I've never missed so many home games as I have this season and most of those are the 1230 kicks offs. I have a son who plays football Saturday morning and unless his kick off is 9am I can't make it. Who on earth thought three games every Saturday at 1230 was a good idea? I would love to know the viewing figures of some the games they've had on like Hull vs Luton. Have one game at 1230 and maybe one on a Friday night but the rest should be Saturday at 3pm

Probably, but the clubs don't care. They've traded one kind of guaranteed income for a slightly higher kind.

And they will just say it’s down to people not having the money etc .

All those Hull and Luton fans in the Far East are loving watching their Saturday night footy.

It’s a degrading effect but clubs don’t care as they’ll barely survive today to worry about tomorrow.

Also, why have they killed the 5.30pm Saturday slot? It's still not great but it's better than 12.30 and as you say, why put 3 on at the same time?

Haven't they shoved a regular PL game into that slot? This is really all about Sky creating an impression of wall-to-wall coverage for the armchair fans.

No it isn’t. I don’t want my Saturday evening cut in half. Personally I don’t mind 12.30, but I prefer 3pm.

I think most of us are of an age where we grew up with football being at 3pm on a Saturday and that is where it best fits. As passionate as we are about football, it is only part of our lives, moving it from 3pm screws with everything else. Also not knowing until 3 weeks before a game when it will be completely messes with making any plans in advance, especially for away games.
When we stop going grounds will be virtually empty while people watch the games on free streams.
It may take a few years but below the Premier League football will be virtual and only watched on screens.

During Covid we saw what atmosphere was lost for telly-watchers when there were no fans in the ground. In a couple of years time we'll be justified demanding the Equity rate for extras if we turn up at the Vic.

Was humming and haaing about renewing season ticket and bitten bullet and now done so. Feel better as from next season officially classsed as an old git , £253 pretty good value to me despite the prospect of boring boring football.

Agreed, but, as an old git, it does increase the temptation to miss the odd game when it’s a bit cold/wet. #fairweatherfan

Same. £650 for a family of 4 is very cheap, even if we only end up collectively going to 70%.

  24. One thing that did bug me was that the savings for being over 65 are less for the more expensive seats.

Renewed our seaon tickets for another season, long standing habits are hard to break! I emailed the club to complain about the impact the TV deal is having on the times of games and the notice when fixtures will actually happen.
Thier response was a rather dismissive, we will pass on your comments to the EFL supporters services team to investigate.

Anybody know if the "EFL supporters services team" is a WFC department or are they just bumping the issue onto the EFL as if they have no input.

And we'll probably be on even more if as feared we are struggling next season.

I don't know what the numbers are but we do seem to have a large number of home games on at 12:30 - or maybe just felt like it?

Yet we aren't on this Friday v the likely promotion winners.

That's because they can televise all of the 3pm kick-offs on a Friday without moving them.

Supply and demand would suggest that prices will come down if attendances across the country take a big enough hit due to the TV deal.

  32. EB Hornet

Is it correct we receive an extra £2.5m per season with the new TV deal?

Some very quick and basic maths - if the average ticket costs £30 to attend - then the average number of ticket sales would have to drop by 3500 to mean we are no better off.
