....or you could read it as over 10% have not renewed, depending on which way you want to spin it.

Of course, but I'd have said 10% was probably within the normal churn anyway. People move away, die, can't afford to renew because of changed circumstances etc.

12,000 is still historically a large number of STs for us to sell. I don't think Gino's going to be quaking in his boots at a 10% attrition rate. Especially with sales still open, only 1,600 to sell to get back to parity and all summer to do it.

That's quite a big hit to Gino's pocket financially. If this carries on into next season (which is may well do), crowds will get less and less until we have Wigan Athletic type home support. That 10% could well be 25% or higher this time next year, especially in the uncertain thought we could then be a League One team.

More people there to let him know what if things don’t improve!

How do they know? I was told if I want to renew to “do nothing”. As soon as my June direct debit goes out (which completes last season ticket) I am cancelling and emailing informing them I’m not renewing.

Have always been fortunate to be able to pay upfront for my ST, so I guess the club will also expect to lose c10% of those who spread the cost. My son and I were bumped out of the family stand last season which wasn’t a problem but was a bit disappointing as we had sat with friends for best part of 10 years who remain there as they have kids under the age restriction. My son was still a student sitting his masters last season, completed at the end of the year and now lives and works oop north. There is no longer a 75 mile season ticket option (there hasn’t been since something like 2014, only a renewal) so to renew his ST will be a full £524. That will not be taken up so effectively I will be sitting on my own as a Dougie No-Mates watching whatever is on offer. I have had two calls in the last week to ask me whether I will be renewing both ST’s. The jury is still out….

It says the norm is between 5 and 8% and were not far short of that. I would say he's probably quite happy with that

I think our core fanbase has just increased thanks to the exposure that came from our successful years in the PL. The poor souls don't know what they've got themselves in for.

Match day revenue last season was £6.7m-dwarfed by commercial and TV money of £120m. Accepting away fans pay more on average than many home fans with concessions etc a simplistic view is that £670k of lost revenue.

That will be a bigger % of total revenue given parachute money and commercial will be lower this season but still £670k isn't even half of Kabasele's wages !

I doubt Gino cares about small change like that but maybe looks better on TV to have c14/15k in the stadium.

One of my friends sits in the family stand with his 10 year old-his son doesn't want to go any more-"no enjoyment dad" but he has renewed both as his sons season ticket is £35!-hope springs eternal that he will thank his dad later in the season

    I have renewed

Hi Andrew, can you say something like - As a guide, the club generally see a churn rate of between 5% and 8% each season, and with season tickets now back on sale at the standard renewal price, it seems likely that they will again retain between 92% and 95% of season ticket holders.

  15. Lloyd

That's a very good point. I think they might be in for a shock if they're assuming that all those season ticket holders who pay by Direct Debit and have done nothing as they were told have opted to renew.

Though in fairness, looking at it now they didn't say do nothing if you intend to cancel. They've asked people to email now and they'll cancel the DD mandate, though I guess if you want to wait to June to pull the trigger you can.

I remember in the 90s when 10k was a good crowd.

Fair points made - people might just be waiting to cancel.

Certainly won't be 12k or whatever season ticket holders at a mid week game if we are no better or worse next season.

I doubt they all turned up this season or in the PL years.

To be fair, probably hard to get through to them what with them being all tied up doing a multi-million pound deal with that Nigerian Prince who emailed them out of the blue.

The waiting list is a myth.

Last summer my wife put her name down in about March. I rang up around May to ask if she could get one and they said yes before even asking her name.

Unless of course, 4,000 have been wowed by the skill, grit and determination of the 22/23 campaign.

That will make Gino happy…means he can spend the estimated 5m in income from ST sales on compensation for 3 fired managers and back room staff next season

I want to see what we can do with so many loans up, contracts up and certain sales.

It's a total clean slate but probably on a shoestring budget. Loans will be pivotal - no more PL rejects.

Give Porteous the armband and build a team.

I like the beer, I like the people around me and I like being able to have 2 hours where I can yell "****" at people I don't know. The football is also there occasionally.

I imagine they never remove people from the waiting list, majority of them are probably on the waiting list from when we got promoted and the season we finished 11th/FA Cup final.
