I very much doubt it. Plan was always for them both to be sold to raise funds for the gap in finances.
That's fine I am not expecting anything. No offence intended but I am unlikely to take the word of someone on a fans forum as gospel anyhow.
Three is potential that the Louza situation could have changed things are very fluid surrounding it at the moment.
I can tell you from a very very good source, he’s still expected to leave - that’s as of yesterday. But I am fine with people not believing me. As @lutonh8a said - I’m anonymous on a football forum so there’s no reason why anyone should.
From what you have heard about this transfer window, are you optimistic about the coming season, Burnsy?
I think the issue is often that what the club want to do isn't always possible. They may have very good targets in mind but fail to land them due to cost and competition. Often that will be unavoidable rather than down to incompetence or Gino just being too tight. I think the ITKs provide a valuable insight into what the club are hoping/trying to do but shouldn't be shot if for one of many reasons it doesn't happen and plans change. There will be plenty of clubs targetting our targets ....if they're any good !!
Louza likely as mentioned/expected. Was told Sierralta may leave earlier in the summer but don’t know if that’s still the case as not heard anything for a while on that. Pollock and Sema were also mentioned but subsequently told they are likely to stay.
GK is solid enough between Bachmann, Bond and Marriott are a reasonable standard for this level. We need at least 5 CB's for playing 3atb so think club have made easy choice of keeping Sierralta instead of sell and replace. Given he's generally stronger in a back 3, makes sense if uninspiring. Overall solid enough options with Hoedt the standout. Sema is hard to fit in as he's not a true wing back but we don't appear to be using wingers in Cleverley's system but has enough attributes to make it work. We need a senior signing there and noises are Cleverley wants that to happen. New LWB and Sema are more than fine at this level for strength and depth. Morris exists and is cheap, so that's fine. RWB is worrying as Ngakia is too injury prone to rely on which could see Andrews burn out again after Xmas. But can't justify 3 senior RWB's for one spot either. Ferreira is allegedly staying at Udinese this season, as is Martins. Also worried about CM. Assume Louza leaves, we only have Kayembé, Dele-Bashiru and Sissoko (Presumably). So we need at bare minimum one more senior signing there, ideally another as well unless we count Ince as the emergency 5th choice. No. 10's we're in potentially decent spot. Asprilla and Chakvetadze are clear first choice. Vata is a natural No. 10 who could cover both sides while Forde can play on the right side and Hurtado the left side as more traditional wingers. ST needs at least one signing and one of Bayo or Rajovic to leave. Doumbia I see being 3rd choice and given the season to acclimatise with cameos and perhaps a loan like Hurtado was given at Xmas.
Looks more comfortable on the ball than Asprilla and is very skillful. Reminds me of Abdi but quicker. Happy with this signing, but we need a lot more to avoid relegation next season
2 non starting 11 players down, so at least we have a full bench, even if we don't have a starting 11 yet.
I'm going to stick my neck out and say Vata is a rather astute signing. He is 19 and seemingly has potential. Let's hope he has an immediate impact in the first team.
No issue with this. Low risk, at an age where he can improve, likely he’ll get opportunities to play and develop, allegedly bigger clubs interested. It seems this is a rare sensible signing for us.
Ok now he's signed I'm prepared to say yes he's a massive punt but he will be the rare one that comes off and will be brilliant, based on nothing more than some (slightly forced) blind faith.
From what I've been told there are a number of surprising players unexpectedly expected to both leave us and to sign for, as long as things go as expected, but all of this could unexpectedly change at any time. Expect to hear more on this soon, unless the unexpected happens.
Happy we've signed someone. Even happier I know nothing about the guy, as I can more easily imagine he's brilliant.
I’m excited as despite not knowing how to pronounce his name I’m imagining it fits perfectly for a chant along to ‘Rock the Casbah’ and we will have something new to sing, or not
