Earlier in the season he seemed to be working as hard if not harder than most in the squad and looked like he had a bit of desire to improve our situation, even if the performances were not up to the standard he is capable of.

It does seem recently though he hasn't been interested, culminating in his display in the Tranmere game where he looked like he'd rather be somewhere else and that it was all beneath him.

Really unhelpful timing to come out and say you want to leave when we're in the middle of a relegation fight and just seeing the green shoots of recovery. Selfish and could potentially undo some of the good work the new management team have done in improving the squad's mentality.

He's blown hot and cold the whole time he's been here so given it's now clear his heart's not in it, it doesn't seem likely that we're going to see much from him between now and the end of the season. Can't afford to carry passengers in our situation.

to be fair, that tranmere game was beneath him.

Yeah, he certainly has more ability than anyone on the pitch in that game but I'd have thought he might have seen it as a chance to get himself into the manager's first 11.

TBH fair I did think it was odd to play a current Argentinian international with a bunch of kids against a 3rd tier side. I'm not surprised he was embarrassed, irritated and unmotivated.

True, but I guess it's pretty insulting for him to be playing in the same side as the likes of absolute dog eggs like whelan, barrett and gray.

You can't blame someone for having self respect.

"I have three years left on my contract at Watford, but in June I would like a change of scenery. It has already been spoken about, so we'll see what happens."

    - Roberto Pereyra [@FOXSportsArg]

Did he sign a sneaky new contract deal? I thought his current contract only had 18 months to run. Looks like it may have been extended without it being reported.

Still, it looks like Bobby P's time has run its course at the club, but at least in the summer we'll be able to demand a decent fee for him rather than him being in his final year.

Personally I'll be sorry to see him go, but I hope fans do not give him stick in the final few months. A bit silly of him to make it public at this stage, but he's a current Argentinian international and I've enjoyed many of his matches in a Watford shirt and he's provided plenty of quality moments.

Would be a very good time to sell him while he is making the Argie national team and still just sub 30....

Might have been extended without him knowing about it. We did sign Holebas in that fashion, so who's to say we don't just extend contracts that way too?

"Here, Maxi, sign the bottom of this folded over bit of paper for an autograph, would you? Muchas gracias..."

Nice little cameo from Bobby today!

Scored a good goal and even tackled back very well too, maybe we should keep him after all if he continues to play like that

Great goal today. No matter what happens in the summer, he will have provided a montage of memorable moments like this. I've loved having him at the club, and I hope he stays longer than the summer, but will only have fond memories of his time at the club if he leaves.

Has no role to play in our team for the remainder of the season and so should be allowed to leave.

Is still a great sub to bring on against tiring teams, as evidenced by recent goals I'd say.

Decided to start playing after Digne's horrible challenge on him, was a passenger before that. He was brilliant for 10ish minutes after that.

Just show it is completely a mentality thing with him, ability not in question.

Least likeable player in a pretty unlikeable squad. Has been putting in nothing performances for over a year and a half now. can't wait for him to leave.

Honestly can't wait till he goes, talented but a luxury player who turns up only if he feels like it and he doesn't feel like it very often. He will leave with a nice short Youtube video of some quality goals to impress fans of his new club but it wont cover the hours of nothingness that makes up most of his time here.

Every week I think ‘give bobby P the benefit of the doubt ‘ and every week the ****er let’s me down. Well enough is enough. Sooner he goes the better. People slate Andre Gray, but he at least gives his all when he is chosen. Ok we’re going down so he will go as he wouldn’t stoop too low to play in the EFL. Even if we had stayed up he is clearly wanting out and wants to go back to Italy. He’s so ******* lazy now that I wouldn’t put it past him to have not put too much effort with his one on one in the cup final.

Agree, I thought he would be rubbish when he replaced Geri but grew into the game and played well. Looked committed and battled back, with some nice touches, I was pleasantly surprised.

What was more amazing was the amount of times he actually headed the ball, including the bizarre one in our box when he just turned and let it hit him. Normally he ducks or tries to move out if the way but not last night. Long ,as it continue.

That header was the fourth best moment of the game after the goals. It was like a toddler trying to head a balloon.

If as rumoured on these boards Pereyra wants to leave at the end of the season, surely he should be playing his heart out while he is getting a prolonged run in the starting 11?

He has the perfect chance by being the shop window at the moment to try and earn himself a move by putting on a good show, so he should get his finger out and try to attract some interest from a decent club, so he can get his wish and more importantly so we can be rid of the lazy barsteward
