I don't think anyone would disagree with your sentiments, we just all want a Manager to be given time to put his stamp on things and for it to work, the fact that Rob Edwards was sacked yesterday is as much a disappointment as it was necessary!

    So?

Oh I forgot, Gino Pozzo has led us to the brink of financial meltdown and we desperately need an injection of PL money.

Exactly, it is obvious that we need to be promoted this season.

I also personally don't think Edwards would have improved over time and we would be stuck to the middle of the Championship for years.

Well yeah, but I’m not sure what your point is?

If it was football reasons, do we really believe that it was after the Sunderland game that Gino suddenly had a moment of clarity and realized that 10 games in, RE wasn’t the man to lead us forward? Then he spent the next week lining up Bilic, while RE was making preparations for our next game?

If Bilic is the man, why not give him the job 10 games ago?

There’s no way this decision was made because of football reasons.

"footballing reasons" can cover a multitude of sins. basically anything to do with the club can be called footballing reasons...

1 point off the play offs, experienced and determined new manager. Players like Kamara, Hause, Louza, Choudhury, Asprilla, Davis, JP and Sarr in the squad. It's all to play for and it could still be a great season at the Pozzo circus.

Fair enough. I thought my post made it clear I was referring to the stuff we see occur on the pitch each week, but perhaps not.

Sounds like Scott is briefing against Gino. What a little b1tch. Gino might be incompetent but Scott is a car crash taking place inside a trainwreck that's on fire and falling off a cliff.....

I understand you hate Duxbury as much as you hated Deeney, I’m no fan of his either but ultimately Duxbury is just en employee, the buck for the vast majority of decisions stops with Gino.

If Gino had given Edwards until the World Cup break I would agree with you. We are six points off the autos and we were showing signs of improvement. Sure some of Edwards tactical and substition decisions were poor but they said they would back him and he deserved backing too.

The way Giaretta was removed then reinstated after Edwards and some senior players(which shows Edwards still had the backing of the squad) complained only for Gino to pull rank and then sack Edwards stinks.

Add this to the Bayat criminal investigations, the club debt and the different companies linked to Watford and who is connected to them etc and it paints a pretty damning picture.

I agree with you. I hate not being able to get behind the team and individual players in the way I used to.
The point I was trying to make was that everyone: fans, owners, staff and players, want Watford to be successful. It’s just that some have a different way of going about it that most don’t agree with. I maintain we wouldn’t see this reaction if we were still sitting 10th in the PL.

No particular arguments with Edwards getting the boot. The football has not been good and the team looks poorly equipped for the Championship but the circus has become entirely tiresome. It’s no longer possible to know what it is we support. A random collection of players thrown together by shadowy figures in the background and when they fail the fella on the touch line carries the can.

Don’t think Giampaolo Pozzo had anything to do with it either. All on Gino, I gather, and he prioritised keeping Giaretta over Edwards.

Amazing there are idiots on Twitter still trumpeting our defence as “best in championship history”, given they must actually be watching Cathcart and Kabasele floundering leaving centre forwards unmarked on the penalty spot on a weekly basis. Combined with the wing backs being either out of position or awful.

The brains of these people must simply not be capable of processing what they see in front of them. It must be Edwards’ fault.

I've seen the argument that Edwards didn't have to pick them. Like he's got Van Dijk and Saliba sitting on the bench waiting for a game!

Our best defence certainly doesn’t include those 2 and as you say full backs out of position.

Gino's biggest problem, apart from the debt, is that he hasn't been able to put together a talented team to run the club effectively. It's a huge weakness at the heart of the club. Both Scott and Giarretta are piss poor at their jobs. Scott is supposedly responsible for appointing RE, if thats true its on him and he should resign. Its true that the buck stops with Gino and this is clearly the narrative Scott is spinning right now via his sycophants but Scott is the CEO and still chooses to bullsh1t fans and players rather than be straight with them amd the current crisis is clearly his fault. He appointed Rob, then briefed that Giarretta was gone even though he wasnt. Total car crash!!! We badly need a talented CEO and we dont have one. Its got nothing to do with hate. I dont hate him or Deeney but they were both cancer for WFC.

You blame the CEO more than the man who employs the CEO, owns the club and probably ratifies 95% of all decisions?

And reinstalled a guy who had been sacked at the expense of a young manager who had been promised time .

Whilst he has made errors and deserves criticism sense personal grievous regarding Duxbury tbh in this regard .

As for Deeney - how we could with someone like him in his prime Championship form !
