Odd that he never questioned himself/source in the first place. 99% of deals will be profit.

Edit: By the way I liked the bit when you "talked to the Everton side and Spurs end" and confirmed it was percentage of fee. Great entertainment as always boss :)

You carry on sir. It's great theatre.

Leventhal can't work out an FX rate, French doesn't question if someone has actually put a percentage of total future fee on a £40m transfer and we've got you running round like Walter Mitty in the middle on twitter. What a time to be alive!

I shall have a void to fill when the window shuts :(

Let's concentrate on the real story here.

Marco Silva was a major driving force in convincing him to join Everton having enjoyed a profitable relationship with the player at Watford, but the man affectionately nicknamed O Pombo [Portuguese for 'the pigeon'] due to his goal celebration has spread his wings.

Strike up the band. "He sh*** where he wants, he sh*** where he wants, Spurs or Chelsea he sh*** where he wants".

Quite a strike force now. Kane, Son, Kulusevski and Richarlison when at the beginning of last season it was expected to be just Son.

Cant help thinking the reported £60 million deal by spurs looks poor value compared to Arsenals acquisition of Jesus for £45 million. Let’s hope we can squeeze a bit more out of the Toffeemen if they come knocking for Dennis

Thing is, I don't think we would be buying him as what we perceive as a 1st XI player - we have DCL as the striker through the middle, Gordon on one of the flanks (won't be selling him this summer) and we are looking at another specialist winger, so I think they see Dennis as someone who can play across the front three roles, press well and contribute goals when required. Given our financial issues, I'd doubt we'll want to spend big money on a player we won't be considering first choice.

Under normal circumstances, I'm sure we'd pay you 50% more than you'd have settled for

Dennis is enough of a specialist winger, plus he's good enough to be first choice for you.

I also doubt you could get anyone better.

Dennis is better than Gordon. Although I would say Gordon is the superior diver.

Dennis is further along in his development than Gordon. Gordon's only had one season of first team football, but if we were to sell him now, even in our depressed financial state, I'd guess we'd sell him for more than you'll get for Dennis.

That isn't saying that I think Gordon's a better player than Dennis right this second, but potentially he's a star (and I still only remember one dive he's made)

You might end up being right, but the suggestions seem to be that it's Dennis and one more in that front three and Dennis may well end up getting in the team on merit if he is as good as people here think

(we may not end up signing him anyway, who knows?)

It's a good move for Richarlison, I can see Conte and his coaching team taking him to the next level. I can see why Spuds fans are getting excited for next season.

Richarlinson has been banned for one game after the flare throwing incident last season .

10% of the profit of the ban I've heard, so sadly that means a 0.3 point deduction

Should be able to clear up the sell on clause situation as I have a source placed very close to the deal that took the boy to Everton.

From what I gather Gino was pushing for 10% of the total proceeds and Everton were surprisingly amenable to this. Gino then turned up the heat on the hapless Everton negotiators and managed to increase our share to 100% of the total proceeds (so the full £60M).

However (and this is where things get interesting) my source witnessed the typing up of the contracts and the story goes that due to a clerical error what was actually signed up to was “-100% of the total proceeds”. In other words we must pay Everton £60M in addition to the moneys they will receive from Spurs.

It’s a bad deal for Watford but we go again.
