With Folquier's impending move to Valencia, we're going to pocket €500k as we had a 20% sell on clause.
Well he probably didn’t adhere himself to his team mates today! Bet he didn’t try to fight Troy for penalties.
Seems inevitable that he’s leaving this window. I guess we will find out if there ever was a sell on clause.
If Adam is looking to put a positive spin on things then the fee (assuming it was £35m) is £40m in today's money.
I heard Everton screwed us a bit. Player’s heart was already set on it, they’d probably already sorted wages and had spoken to Watford about a fee of around £35m. We were happy with that, allowed the player to travel for a medical, then the official bid comes in at just £30m. Not sure what transpired but I think we settled. Hopefully we got a good sell-on.
No, they are. In fact their stupid enough to sell to Spurs but keep our sell-on clause attached to the deal.
Danny gets another reprieve. Imagine him having to attend pre season training to trigger his pay. Imagine the shape he'll be in after 6 months of no footie.
So say it was originally a £35m deal and he goes to Spuds for £60m, still nice to get another £1.5m in the kitty.
Not sure why Spurs would want him unless they are expecting outgoings in the front line. Richarlison is a good player, but not sure Spurs is a good match.
Pretty sure the sell on was 15% of any profit, which presumably won’t amount to much if sold for £50m
Bergwijn wants out I think. Whether that’s a gap they’d want to fill will a £50m+ signing though I’d doubt.
There's no sell on clause It's laughable to think Everton would have agreed to one anyway given Watford trebled their money on him within 12 months - there was an agreement all round that Everton overpaid at the time. £35m potentially rising to as much as £50m was the generally accepted wisdom. Getting a sell on clause on top of that would have been lunacy (albeit, where Everton are concerned, lunacy is always on the cards). In any case, every journalist who's commented on it since has said no sell on clause This is the summer he leaves - I'd expect a minimum of £60m
Sounds like they're selling both Bergwijn and Moura. Richarlison can play anywhere across that front three (although better on the left) and Spurs have a CL campaign coming up. I understand why they want him, but he's an expensive sub in effect
Greg O'Keefe, Paddy Boyland and Andy Hunter have all said at various points during the last four years that there is no sell on clause I'm yet to see any credible journalist comment that there is one?
To be fair if we got, in the region of, a total of £40-45m including add-ons that is a very fair deal. Everton could use some of the money to buy Sarr or Dennis
I imagine both Dennis and Sarr will be hoping for much bigger moves than a team could end up scraping for survival again!
