Making more from football than I am my full-time job now, but I'm working from home until at least January (and only really have to do a couple of hours work a day anyway!) so may as well bank both whilst I can as somewhat hesitant to quit my job of 11 years considering the current job climate!

 

Cheers! Throws really don't get a lot of attention and it's becoming a bigger focus now (partly in thanks to the Liverpool throw-in coach!), there's so many patterns that you can use to ensure an advantage - Liverpool had a great throw-in against Atalanta in the week that really shows the work they're doing around it - and it's working

 

Glad it's beginning to pay dividends mate, lets hope you can go full time soon

 

Doesn’t Wenger want to change throw ins to what I can only describe as ground passes?

I was surprisingly not that mad at it when I read it. How likely is that though? He holds a powerful position doesn’t he?

Both now played 1 game each and scored 1 corner goal each (albeit scrappy ones!)

 

That is great news !
Is your info that you pass on about how oppo teams set up at defensive
corners\set pieces rather than how "your" team should set up ?.

 

I do both for most of the teams, but for the L2 team (and all subsequent teams that sign this season) I'm only offering the attacking side of it due to having limited time now!

 

2 goals in 2 games for the League 2 team I'm on trial with - will be annoyed if I don't land a contract now!

Groningen finally got off the mark yesterday



and SonderjyskE also grabbed one (can't take any credit for this really as it's a bit scrappy and long after the corner but it's gone down as a corner goal - after the VAR check reversed the offside call)



Also forgot this one that Casa Pia scored in the cup a couple of weeks ago:

 

Things finally starting to click for Groningen now with a corner goal in successive games (with goal bonuses to match ) and a 3rd corner goal of the season for the Championship team I'm working for which takes me to 13 goals in all competitions for the season so far



It's interesting to see the improvement from last season:

Last seasons league goals (this season):

Groningen: 2 goals from 149 corners taken last season (2 corner goals from 56 corners taken)
Forest Green Rovers: 3 goals from 190 corners taken (4 corner goals from 85 corners taken - 2 goals from 29 corners since i've been there though!)
Casa Pia: 1 goal from 109 corners taken (3 goals from 55 corners taken)
SonderjyskE: 3 goals from 176 corners taken (2 goals from 41 corners taken - 2 goals from 15 corners since i've been there though)
Champ team: 10 goals from 213 corners taken (3 goals from 96 corners taken)

So overall last season the teams I'm working with scored 19 goals from 837 corners (2.27% conversion rate), whereas this season they've scored 14 goals from 333 corners (4.2% conversion rate) - a good advert for my work if I can keep that ratio up!

 

A fantastic weekend with goals for Groningen (3rd goal in 3 games!), Forest Green and Casa Pia, taking me to 16 goals in all comps (4.95% conversion rate now)

The decoy run/crossover and finish were well executed !!

 

Superb! That has got to be VERY satisfying.

 

...plus all the grouping/focus at the back post. No runners moving into wasted space either as all would be in play if there was a save/block or the initial ball in not so perfectly executed. Love it.

Routines like this are so underrated, takes the delivery aspect out of the equation and if the small details all click (like freeing up the player for the shot) then you have a shot in a very decent area.

 

Most importantly the pass from the corner taker was spot on .
Without that everything else is academic .

 

Yup. One of our cloggers would have probably delivered it at knee height on the half volley.

Another corner goal for Groningen last night taking them to 4 for the season from 84 corners taken (up from 2 corners from 155 corners taken last season)



Above is a comparison of the number of corner goals scored in the Eredivisie last season (left) vs number of corner goals scored so far this season (right), I think only Feyenoord can boast a better improvement

 

....or no-one will come calling as they will assume he's already working for one of their competitors so there's no point in contacting him !
