I know it a piece by the skidmark made human form 'renowned' 'thinker' Paul Staines but I'm amazed how De Pfeffel's appearance in front of a Common's Select Committee to answer questions about him continually lying to Parliament is being turned into a kangaroo court on 'partygate': https://twitter.com/DianaHarding7/status/1557274064078651392
When she says 'I'm on your side' she only means Express readers. And when she says 'Everyone can thrive' she only means Express readers. Similar messages apply to Mail, Times, Telegraph and S*n readers.
I have never voted further right than the SDP, however for 35 years I bought the Daily Telegraph every weekday and on Saturday as well. I never agreed with the politics, but quite liked the Sport reporting and some other content as well. In 2017 I ditched the weekday edition (couldn't stand the Brexit nonsense anymore). I always bought the Sunday Express, again never agreed with the politics, but liked the general knowledge crossword in the magazine . Anyway about four weeks ago I made a decision to switch to the Times on Saturday and the Sunday Times. I should have done it years ago - great journalism throughout and enough crosswords and sudokos to see me through the week . I know who the the ultimate owner is, but the whole flavour seems far less partisan.

It’s an important statement. It sometimes needs someone with a platform to summarise what we already know. This Government, since Brexit and during the campaign for it, has broken important democratic principles, rules and conventions and tries to cover this up by control of the media. Worse still, this is presented as a patriotic insurrection on behalf of the working class. Shower of bastards, as Father Jack would say.
She's in a few reaction shots throughout Maitlis's talk but around the 50' mark - is that Elizabeth Murdoch with a face like she's been eating a bag and rancid lemons?

Under this government the divisions in it are getting bigger and bigger. And those two candidates while pretending to care are nothing of the sort. They don't have an ounce of compassion in them or morality. Truss with the nuclear button. No thanks. Sunak thinking he knows better than virologists and epidemiologists ? No thanks.
I should read this link sooner rather than later - in case it disappears! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-62712155 I hope "Auntie" can make it through to the next GE reasonably intact.
I’m in two minds about this. Sure, this one seems a bit perplexing, but presenters like Steve Wright, Vanessa Feltz etc were on astonishing contracts and sailed through decades in what is supposed to be a very competitive field. In fact it’s that level of competition that (allegedly) justifies the salaries. The BBC is going to be smaller and it can find better people to do popular progs on Radio Two for less than £400k per year. I’d say an awful lot less. At least Roger didn’t moan about his, very good, innings coming to an end.
Chris Bryant is up in arms about this: https://twitter.com/RhonddaBryant/status/1565789881468592128 Taxpayers funding the legal advice for a private individual...
