Everyone has to agree that the Spectator’s columnists are like a Who’s Who of the Country’s mouthiest idiots. Rod Liddle, Allison Pearson, Julie Burchill, Toby Young etc etc.

Imagine being stuck in a room with those four? Most conservatives would consider topping themselves, let alone everyone else.

I suppose Priti Patel will use her new powers to remove UK citizenship from dual national convicted sex offender Maxwell now?

Or does that only apply to less rich sex offending foreigners that are a bit more foreign looking than Ghislaine?

I've just noticed that Lawrence "The Dessert" Fox has taken to twitter to advertise his GETTR account*.

    Screenshot 2022-01-03 at 17-38-37 Laurence Fox ✝️ on Twitter.png

*NB a lot of the professional contrarians have done the same but their tweets go direct to GETTR so I haven't linked to them. From my experience of reading what St Tommy of Yaxley-Lennon was up to at the moment the comments quickly regress to exactly what you think they will be... I wonder if Der Färager will be joining them seeking freiheit?

It looks like the twitter spat* between over mask wearing between 'world-renowned shytehawk expert' Julia Hartley-Brewer and Dr Julia Patterson (admittedly a bit of a rent-a-quote) looks like it's going to lead to TalkRadio getting 'done' under GDPR legislation...

*Very quick summary: DrJP is very pro-mask wearing and has a very high media profile - which, of course, incensed JHB who had to attack her at every opportunity. Both are on TalkShyteRadio (JHP as a professional shytehawk and DrJP as a professional expert) and it looks like TalkShyteRadio have supplied JHB with DrJP's telephone number...

******* Hell. Leaving do party at No 10 for James Slack, Johnson's press officer, previously "Enemies Of The People" political editor at Mail, on the eve of Prince Philip's funeral.

Now Deputy editor of The Sun.
Who strangely have not exactly been in the partygate vanguard.

Story broken by Telegraph. Who own Johnson's wobbly fundament. He's toast.

You would think so but his supporters still think the report will save him. No criminal charges, civil servants to be disciplined and Johnson "censured" for lack of judgement:

Disgusting having a party on the eve of Phil's big send off. It should have been during the funeral itself for goodness sake.

She's not though is she? She's just refused to accept the dogma that states that biological sex doesn't exist.

It's quite bizarre that that is seen as a contentious viewpoint.

I wonder if the Met will now decide to ask Gray to look into the circumstances surrounding any other lockdown breaches they are actually investigating before they decide to continue with any prosecutions.
I mean, how could they be expected to know there were parties going on, what with having to vet people going in and out of Downing Street?

The Mail does its bit on behalf of the Tories to train the Nation’s gunsights on someone other than Johnson and his cronies.

Frankly, who gives a **** if people work at home? It’s up to those services to manage work and their staff. I’m glad they are. Less commuters means less pollution and easier journeys for those who need to go in.

The Mail decides that Johnson will triumph again by ditching his ‘left wing’ policies.

She really is either genuinely stupid or wilfully disingenuous. Be interesting to hear her views on the role as part of religious observance of body art in many cultures.

Classic populism here as the Mail amplifies the Government’s latest wheeze without the merest care that it is obviously bollox.

In doing so they advance promoted Michael Gove’s media tour today, where he tried to shift attention from the Government’s dreadful, heartless response to the Ukraine refugee crisis to imagined solutions of unicorn proportions.

Well this would be good wouldn’t it? I think we can all agree. Except Gove was already warning in the next breath that there is a high legal bar to such an action. I imagine a very high legal bar when it comes to the property of Tory donors.

And if this was such a good idea why not simply confiscate the property of any billionaire whose money comes from a despotic regime (bye bye Horse Racing and a few football clubs) and house both refugees and ordinary British homeless people or those living in mouldy, damp, sub-standard accommodation? Ah, thought not. There is a high legal bar.

But this doesn’t stop the Mail acting as if this isn’t anything but an obvious misdirection from Government failure and meanness.

The Fail raises the stakes in the challenge for most Cnutish paper of the century, repeating ‘claims’ (**** off are there ‘claims’) that Angela Rayner has tried to put Boris Johnson off by flashing at her fanny at him in Parliament, Sharon Stone style.

She knows she cannot compete with Boris’s Oxford Union debating training but she has other skills he lacks
it claims on behalf of ‘anon MP’.

Thankfully Johnson and Dorries have come out with genuine and heartfelt condemnations of the misogyny directed at Rayner.

Not a cut and paste of some agreed text from party HQ for them.....no siree....

A tricky one for the loyal papers today with all other news leading on the trouble Johnson is in for his obvious lies. What to do?

Well you can completely deny it, like the Express, Our Boris is innocent!

Or you can simply ignore it and find a convenient enemy to exaggerate about, like the Mail.

It's quite clever how those protecting Johnson have managed the narrative so it's all about parties, booze and cake.

The rules at the time didn't say anything about any of those things. Gatherings of any sort were not allowed indoors unless they were necessary for work.

There is absolutely no necessity for people to gather for a leaving do. And Johnson, as an architect of the rules, should have known that and halted proceedings as soon as he was aware of what was happening.

There is absolutely no defence for his behaviour and the MET need to explain why he, and ALL those present, weren't issued a FPN.

It looks like the Met’s decision not to issue Johnson with a FPN will be challenged by the Good Law Project. It will be sending its pre-action protocol letter soon.
