Club questions:

• Can you tell us the truth regarding selling Hassane Kamara for £16m?
• Jumbolina and TuT's questions about debt above (Posts #3 and #8)
• Why has it taken SO long for you to speak to fans? You must be aware it's been something we have been after for years, so why the ignorance towards that? If it isn't contempt for the fans, then what is it?
• What is the actual hierarchal structure? Gino, Duxbury, Giaretta, Manga, Costa - we are told these people are all very 'hands-on'....do you feel any incoming HC/manager would feel a sufficient level of control in order to make a coherent football team when the recruitment seems to have little focus on 'current team needs' and is based more on 'individuals' and 'future sell on profit'?
• Please explain your relationship with Mogi Bayat and why you feel it wise to have had the club in such close relationship with him?
• Why are the club you run so often in front of judges/authorities explaining ourselves?
• Can you clearly explain the clubs bonus structure/ad-hoc payment staff payment policies and confirm if this has always been kept to? And are all staff made aware of a change in these policies before they are enacted?

Team Questions:

• Why has it taken the club so long to recruit in defensive areas? The rot has been setting in for years and you have overseen that and did little about it.
• Why did the club turn down the chance to buy Ivan Toney for such a low fee?
• Why does the club not recruit and scout a new long-term captain, instead preferring to pass the captaincy around perceived 'leaders' we have (Cleverly, Cathcart, Sissoko) who don't do the job well ON THE PITCH?
• Why did you see fit to spend £11m on Bayo and Okoye?
• Why did you not do everything in your power to keep Will Hughes, instead replacing him with players like Kucka and Etebo?
• Exactly what happened with the whole Rob Edwards situation and why should we trust you, or get behind any incoming coach, when the situation you create always feels temporary? Are you aware of the image the footballing world have of Watford Football Club because of the actions you take time and time again? Do you care?

 

Agreed. The ownership have no obligation to answer specific questions about finances (e.g. explain the bonus structure) or recruitment (e.g. why didn’t you sign Toney?), nor will they. The best we will get is some comments on general policy, e.g. a commitment to bring through more youth from the academy, which they could be questioned about at a later date when it doesn’t happen.

I guess questions must be very specific. Given the information is available in accounts 18 months after the event they should be able to answer the question about the specific level of debt right now.

Does the youth / Academy set up run at a loss - IE no sales of youth products.

Assuming the answer is yes, what’s the plan for it? It’s not worth having in its current state. Why not try something new / different, or have a more solid plan to it

Im assuming you see the Academy as a massive failure, why is this and what are you going to do about it (whoever asks any questions about this don’t nod if they say about how many Academy players have made appearances this season - that was purely down to the ridiculous injury list we had)

Talking of which - why is our injury record so dire, not just this season but for many seasons over recent years. And why does it seem to take so much longer for players to return? And what’s the plan to stop this happening moving forward

What’s the plan for the stadium and is a new venue still a possibility- what’s the decision process for this to happen

The success of player recruitment has dropped year on year - the only half decent area is young players from South America. What’s going on?

Why doesn’t the club invest in decent young English players - see Crystal Palace as an example, Eze and Olise didn’t break the bank. Imagine those 2 with Ivan Toney. There are obviously other examples.

Basically the club looks like it’s in a mess - so what’s the plan and how do we know we can trust what you say based on what’s been said vs what’s actually happened over the last 3/4 years

He isn't running a football club though. This is the misconception. He is Running a player trading business. Owning a club is simply a tertiary element of that.

I mean we had posters at start of season convinced that Cleverley, Cathcart and Kabasele were chasms above the piddly league, so it’s fair to say the squad is massively over rated by our fans and Duxbury as well.

Plenty of excellent questions but I'm afraid anyone hoping or expecting Pozzo or Fuxbury to respond in a meaningful way to anything beyond the usual banal twaddle about catering, red shorts, car parking etc is going to be disappointed.

 

I do love the way this forum can intermingle the serious questions that Watford's owner should be answering, with Monty Python related ornithology.

You’ve hired 18 head coaches since you’ve owned the club, and yet only one has been approached by another club due to performing well, why do you think this may be?

The answer will of course be that other clubs knew how happy and committed managers are at Watford so there was little point in trying to prize our 17 other gems away. .
