We just haven't turned up today. We had a decent opening spell but PNE have turned it on us since. Cleverley needs to find a solution.
Can't argue with the score so far. Ball allowed to bounce 3 or 4 times for their assist with no-one closing down. Not turned up tonight at all.
Amazing that this is the same team as Saturday. We look clueless, can't pass to each other, second to most balls, totally off the pace, nothing up front, all over the place. I dont see Preston have done anything particularly well to be 2-0 up. We've just looked a mess all game.
I'll never understand why being on a slightly different football pitch in the same country makes so much difference. It's not like we're playing in Quito or Qatar.
The FA will probably ban Osmajic tomorrow - they just needed to wait until he had the chance to score against us before finally making their decision 3 weeks later.
2nd best and don’t deserve anything, but annoyingly it’s just a load of individual errors costing us. Missing two 1 on 1’s and then conceding from an inability to just close down or clear the ball. **** and annoying.
Have to ask why Mamadou Doumbia isn't being bedded in with chances now in sub form at least. He looked raw but has pace a frame that could cause issues. Rather give an potential unknown quantity a chance than a bad known quality more in Bayo.
Louza the bottler, two players missing sitters, failing to change shape to counter their high press but tried punting down the wings in second half to break it. Two players left alone to score and one of the goals we gave away. Absolutely crap performance.
Clevs needs to figure this out very fast or we'll drop down the table like a rock. We started the season with a bit of vim and vigour, but as soon as its not quite worked, we've shot back into a kind of half way house, not really forcing anything, whilst sitting off a touch too much and letting the other team control the game. Then the missed chances hurt, and the defensive mistakes cost us. It's ok being a little plucky v Man City but we need to bring our game more, not watch and let the game play and see where it lands. Too passive in all areas of the park. Baah was better as impact sub, his touch was pathetic and was more likely to bounce off for a throw than fall kindly. Still raw of course. Bayo missed another 1 on 1 so we didn't have anyone capable of scoring tonight. Louza was horrific. Ref a bit poor but not why we lost.
Bond don't think could have done much about any of the goals so far. Ogbonna coming off has notably made the defence off and shows how much we're relying on him already to organise the defence. Pollock not won his duels and Morris a step worse, can argue played out the side tonight. Ebosele and Larouci both toothless and their replacements little better. Sissoko looks gassed and Louza demonstrating once again he's not able / wanting to play as a CM. Before we already were 3 down we had Vata who's extremely dynamic and Ince who has shown a goal scoring touch this season both on the bench whilst Chakvetadze been marked out the game and Kayembe who's done nothing today. The less said about Baah's and Bayo's performances the better and both take a huge chunk of responsibility tonight as their misses killed us. I understand the regular wing back rotation and I know he wants to use the squad more but seems so averse to using Vata and Dwomoh when Louza has once again shown he's not up for it and Kayembe isn't working at No. 10 with a number of alternatives sitting on the bench. We weren't dire in the first half and was reasonably even but PNE have just eased past us as the game has gone on. For a coach who's so willing to rotate the squad, he's not able to rotate some clearly under par players.
A shambles again away from home. Too many mistakes and poor finishing. We probably had just as many decent chances but we haven't been accurate enough. Baah and Bayo have to score those one on ones Can't quite put my finger on why we are so different away from home compared to at home, maybe just a mental thing?
Obviously we do need to improve the away form and take our chances when they come as clearly the defence is not as reliable on the road as for home games . Seems to be one step foward then two back . Got Luton and Leeds as away games next !
Truly abysmal performance in all respects. As bad as anything we’ve seen in the last two or three years. And can anyone still defend Bayo now? Laughably bad.
Absolutely appalling, not one of them had a good game. By far and away the worst performance of the season. Preston are a poor side but we managed to be even worse.
Cracking halftime team talk from Clevs. Went from cack to utter cack. I love the guy but he needs to sort out his substitutions. He does know that you can make them at halftime doesn't he?
What an absolute dicckhead of a performance. Classic Watford. The 'Watfordy' to end all 'Watfordys'. Pathetic, lethargic and spineless almost to a man across the team (Ogbonna the main exception) with Louza once again deserving special attention in that regard. The fact that we randomly lurch from these performances is not a good sign at all, top half of the league mirage or not. Norwich was not long ago, and to be displaying an attitude this bad mere days after a late win is damning on the team's mentality, as well as Our Tom's ability to influence that in the slightest. I'm sure he will come out and say all the right things, the things we are all thinking, tonight, but what will actually change? How will he actually improve it? Evidently, he has not managed to come up with an answer to date. The fact that Bayo has been allowed out of the bin is doubly shocking, this evening. Unforgivable.
If you'd have offered the Preston players a 3-0 victory at the start of the game they'd have bitten your arm off.
**** you watford is there anything as **** as watching the last 15 mins of a game when you have no chance of getting anything from it
0-0 at HT, got caught up doing something else, switched the stream back on and it was 3-0… WTF happened?!
