Worth a punt as a backup?

 

Would any other championship team give him a contract? No. So should we? Absolutely, he's a legend, he 'gets' the club! Let's spunk away another £30k a week on a glorified seat warmer.

 

@DrewH - is this all the players officially signed to the club on professional contracts?

 

Looking forward to Hurtado being loaned out for the next four years, finally looking like he's ready to make an impact then refusing to play for us in League 1 in an updated version of the Estupinan/Suarez shenanigans.

 

He already qualifies for a work permit though, so we wouldn't be forced to keep loaning him as we were with Estupinan and Suarez.

The only reason we'd have to keep loaning him is if he's just not good enough yet.

 

Let's get him in now then, dunno about you but I'm sold by his Bambi on Ice efforts during the u20 World Cup!

 

Thanks Drew, do you know how many of those we have? Just interested to know how many professionals we have on our books at any point in time / currently. Also, what sort of wages are these 1 year U21 players likely to be on?

I thought Ngakia's contract was up in 2024?

Ngakia can't be far off having a record that shows he has been unavailable for more games than he has been available for.

 

Know as the Danny Welbeck Award.

 

It does make me laugh when people worry that Livermore can't play three games in a week because he is 33 like that is some sort of ancient age, yet relative whippersnappers like Ngakia 10 years his junior manage 20 odd games a season.

Darren Anderton was nicknamed sicknote and managed nearly 500 games in his career, Ngakia will do well to reach half that.

 

The Brighton sea air will fix that for Ngakia.

 

Maybe the Janmaat award. It's nothing special, made of glass.

 

Not saying Ngakia is anything but a crock, but it is a very demanding position!

 

Always seems to get injured just as he is getting some momentum going. Will be interesting to see what the club do at the end of the season.

 

Anything other than releasing him would be absurd. A complete waste of a wage and squad place.

 

Doubt there will still be an Ngakia at the end of the season.
