Someone I sort of work with supports Walsall and he said they blew a 15 point lead to then miss out on the final day, so not them anyway.

Sheff Utd in the final after that result, and can even afford to rest a few players in the second leg.

Red card changed the game. BC were in the tie but that's them done for unless they put in a super performance at Bramal Lane. They are in the same position we were when we lost 0-3 at home to Hull in the first leg. I really don't want Sheff Utd to go up, and if Coventry make it past Sunderland I hope they can get the job done.

I hope he is calling out his player for being stupid and not the ref for doing what he had to do.

Of course not. It's a completely pathetic response from a sore loser. His player made a big error yet he's trying to pretend he was playing the ball. Sure, he kicked it, but only after wrestling Moore first.

Agreed. I like Liam Manning, he’s a good coach, but he’s being a very bad loser here.

He’s doubled down now saying the ref shouldn’t have been given the game: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cpqej87pj2zo

Seems a classic case of deflect the blame to me!

Cov/Sunderland has been a really good game - proper hammer and tongs stuff from both teams. Sunderland perhaps lucky to win but it’s really well poised now for the second leg.

Costly error from Coventry at the end.

I guess it goes to show form goes out the window in the playoffs. Cov battled well and it was pretty even. Only a slender lead though and I still think Cov can get through.

Really hope Sheff U go up, as the other three teams wouldn’t stand a chance next season (most likely Sheff wouldn’t either tbh but they look by far and away the best of the four).

A bit boring for Sheff U to have yet another go, but I agree they are comfortably the best candidates.

Is the question who do we think will go up or who do we want to go up?

Notts County are playing AFC Wimbledon now and I’d quite like them to win the play-offs (I’m sure Wimbledon will be up there next season). It seems ages since they were even in L1 (spent four seasons in non-league) and I feel to be spending 30+ years below the top two tiers is a huge underachievement for a club of their size, especially when you consider the number of small clubs that have been in the second tier or higher since they were last there.
