Gino's dad was the driving force behind our success and Gino was the driving force behind our collapse both in terms of football and finances. In the early Pozzo years the club was carried by a feel good factor similar to what newcastle have now. Gino, Scot amd Troy turned the club toxic and now we are left with an unmanageable debt ridden rotting carcass of a club.

Do you mean first or second time round, or both?

I can't remember what I thought when Bournemouth first got promoted, but they seemed certain to go back down during the first half of 2015/16 but then it became apparent their bad form was caused by injuries to key players. The second time round, I was sure they'd go back down just after they went up and during much of this season as they went up with a worse side than the 2014/15 one, I couldn't think of three clubs that would do worse than them and as the season unfolded, I didn't think the big clubs at the bottom would continue to perform so badly (not to mention some of the underachieving clubs at the top that Muff have beaten recently - Liverpool, Spurs at their place).

I presume he means when Deeney was here but it hasn’t exactly improved since he left had it !?

Got worse on and off the pitch if anything .

Oh for a Deeney in his prime eh ?

We’ll hardly get 20 goals between the team next season at this rate .

I thought the toss to choose ends was neutral, insofar as the ref designates which end is ‘heads’ and which is ‘tails’; the next toss is so the winner can choose whether to go first or second.
I may be mistaken of course.

Mmm, really, really not sure how he can be said to have any responsibility for a 'debt laden zombie club with no spirit or soul whatsover just a money extracting, player trading platform with questionable financial antics', to be honest.

BBC reporting Kenilworth Road as a "throwback" stadium.

Throwback. Can you use that in a sentence?

"About half an hour after a strong coffee I always need to take a massive unflushable throwback"

It will be interesting to see how L*t*n manage the transition to the PL. Obviously the money helps but it can be a bit of a curse. The challenge will be to add the quality they will need in the squad without affecting too much the team spirit they clearly have now. I’m sure they won’t do a Forest and replace almost everybody, but the better players they add mustn’t come in the form of disruptive mercenaries that stop performing when the going gets tough.

It's ridiculous though isn't it, because Edwards was the definition of a long term option. We looked a bit shaky at the start of the season, but we just came from the worst season in recent memory where everything was dour so it was never going to be a completely fresh page. Edwards was still learning but you could tell he was a great man manager and people's person which was relentlessly mocked on here by quoting "Call me Rob" and discarding him as a PE teacher.

In reality he is exactly what we needed, over time he would have put together a solid cohesive unit that played for each other with passion which we haven't seen in many years. We probably wouldn't have gone up because our players aren't determined enough but Edwards represented a new future. Given 2-3 years we would have been back up. He's literally just shown yesterday he's capable of doing it no matter how much someone on here tries to delegate the fortune to Nathan Jones. Only Burnley won more points since Edwards came in.

Now we have another cast off manager who will last until the international break before the apes call for him to be sacked and we will be back to square one again. It's so unexciting and predictable it's ruining the whole point of football. I just want a manager to get the chance to build something here and give us an identity back. If that means 3 years in the championship before we mount a challenge again then so be it.

Yes obviously Duxbury and Gino had different ideas of success in the season .

I doubt they even speak to each other now but are making a lot of money out of the club .

What does Duxbury even do? Seems like he's the guy who does the speaking in public for Pozzo, and who Pozzo entrusted with appointing Edwards

I was watching the new Beavis and Butthead who were passing comment on a reality TV show not dissimilar to Jersey Shore. Then it dawned on me, what are Beavis and Butthead doing on BBC's Look East. I soon realised that it was Mick Harford and John Still watching a man called Barry Tweet sitting outside his dilapidated old shed planning a wedding with a honeymoon in Tehran. He was later shown wheeling one of their former managers down a known street after dark very slowly,at crawling speed one might say. Roll on Derby County's unwanted record being broken.

Look East have reached Nirvana. A team in the PL and Ipswich getting promoted to the Champo. Perhaps like the other Nirvana some of their presenters will blow their own heads off and do us all in this region a favour.

If Gino trusted Duxbury on Edwards originally what happened there after ?

A break down in trust and continuity ?

Just to raise a question, does anyone think Gino hates Luton like we hate Luton? I highly doubt he’s that invested, we’ve played them four (?) times under his reign, two of them in lockdown. He had no prior affinity to Watford or even English football, I’m sure the Edwards thing hurts his pride but I don’t think Luton going up per se bothers him at all.

    No not at all.

    Be more disappointed Udinese lost.

Same for the players and probably most at the club in important positions.

Scott is the one who lies to players we want to sign to BS them into joining. Historically his job was also to lie to the fans to cover Gino's ass. A good CEO will create an exceptional management structure within the club and play a major roll in defining a positive club culture. This recent interview with Brighton's CEO Paul Barber shows very clearly what a good CEO is. The most interestimg aspect for WFC fans is that Barber says some of the same things Duxbury has told us over the years. The difference is that Duxbury only SAYS it. Barber and Brighton actually DO it. Its the difference between fantasy amd reality. It says a lot that Barber is dismissive of Brighton being an 'established' PL club. Duxbury famously referred to WFC as 'an establushed PL club' when we were in the championship!!

If he cares for the club and fanbase he owns, he should at least feel something. He must know by now Luton are what they are to us, and obviously must of felt even the smallest part of envy watching Edwards promote them yesterday, a task he still could of done for us, given time and resources. Bilic was alright before he lost it, and Wilder was just rubbish. Both are very decent coaches in the right environment, but were totally unsuited to Watford at this time. I know pre season and behind the scenes mean nothing anymore, but to see the players' with smile on their faces when he first came in was a great uplift. He obviously has that 'Xisco' sort of vibe to him, but can get the most out of a side who want to be part of his journey. Problem against all this of course, is the attitude of our players' last season was rancid. Kayembe even added fuel to that fire yesterday. None of our players are invested in what a Derby means, so why should Gino?

Unlikely that he hates Luton BUT Luton have just completely humiliated him and made him look like a demented incompetent idiot. He's probably not too happy about that.

Unfortunately not the case but both teams have done themselves proud - Carlisle have certainly surpassed expectations after heading for possible relegation before Paul Simpson’s rescue return last season.

The penalties in the play-offs have been impressive - three teams have scored from all 5/6 of their attempts, even Peterborough who threw away a 4-0 lead only missed one in the end.
