    Obviously we are all Cov.

Is anyone going out in Watford to watch it? or staying in bed all day?

I'll watch it. Either way it's going to be good for us.

    1. If Coventry win, we can all have a good laugh at them.

    2. If Luton do win, Gino would have egg on his face for sacking the bloke who could of gotten us up had we stuck with him. Then again, he won't care either way, because in his little world he is never wrong.

Watch Luton probably have their moment in the sun? No ******* thank you.

Will be scheduling a 3am pee trip in hotel in Tokyo. Won't be able to get back to sleep due to misery or ecstasy (the emotion not the tablet).

    Come on Coventry!

Oh God, is it this Saturday? It's a tough choice - watching Luton lose (ideally on penalties) would be the televisual highlight of the year, but if they win (and, I'm sorry to say I think they will) seeing their orc-like fans celebrating with Edwards is likely to send me spiralling into a deep depression

I feel a bit tinpot if I end up in a pub cheering on Coventry, it's the sort of thing that lot up the road were probably doing when we got battered in the Cup final.

Seems to be a lot of talk about Luton and Rob Edwards but not much regarding Coventry.

Or maybe I have noticed the former more due to the obvious connections!

I mean if someone played a drinking game every time Edwards and Watford get mentioned goodness knows what state they’d be in !

I'll probably catch a good chunk of it and my mood for the remainder of the bank holiday weekend will be determined at the final whistle.

    I'm looking at positives.

    - If Luton win there's a good chance they get embarrassed in the PL which will be a laugh across the season.
    - If Luton lose then that'll be funny.

    Win/win, sorta.

Have to say what a fantiastic story it will be for a Luton fan. Can you imagine how we'd feel ? Non league to the prem in so few years, managed to promotion by handsome promising young English manager, who was fired by your local rivals earlier in the season when they were above you in the league, appointed after picking up a nice compensation package for letting your previous inferior manager leave for a prem club.... who fired him shortly afterwards. You can't make this stuff up.

I am hoping it all comes out in the open when Gino releases his tell-all autobiography: "With My Ego Sat Beside Me".

There are so many occasions under the Pozzo's that have made me feel embarrassed to support Watford. This is certainly one of them. Saying I supported Watford used to make me feel proud before Gino came along, when we were a scrappy pub team full of Scottish players and academy products. Selling our soul to get to the Premier League has ruined us, and we are not alone there. Luton will find out the hard way if they were to go up.

Not sure I buy that they'll be embarrassed up there. Or at least, no more so than we've been in 3 of our 4 relegation seasons. They've got that pluckiness/togetherness that always seems to help and their dump of a stadium will only be a positive for them in close home games. Plus the PL money would surely push their stalled Power Court new stadium project over the line.

Pluckiness/togetherness is a help for sure and is a big bonus in the Championship especially where a lot of teams are pretty much equals in terms of tactical/technical quality but trying to get by on that in the PL will (hopefully) end in disaster. But valid point about their stadium, they've recruited well so far as well, PL money may see them improve on that tactical/technical quality as well which would suck.

It's such a shame we can't attract a manager like theirs.

Don’t really have a view on Luton either way to be honest. Not into tribal rivalries.

I like Rob Edwards though. Oh and I despise Pozzo. Hopefully that clears up my position for you.

Haven't been following it too much recently but I think it got bogged down in a tangled web of planning law and funding issues to do with selling their original site by the M1 to pay for this one. Plus the site itself was a post-industrial toxic wasteland (fitting!) which needed cleaning up.

IIRC they've had the green light for a while now but it's all gone a bit quiet. We know as well as any club that most of what you get in from the PL just heads straight back out of the door in the pockets of players, agents etc but you'd think if they were prudent on that front they could fund a fair chunk of it even if they came straight back down. Plus obviously the PL dosh opens up big doors to borrow if you want to accelerate plans.

Just think next season Luton, Bmuff, Palace and even Brentford could be in the prem while we struggle in the champ with little ole QPR.
