Petrol Prices

The Asda near where I work unleaded has gone up 3 pence overnight, that is on top of the 6 pence it had increased since last Friday.

It is still below £1.85 ppl but blimey at this rate it will at £2 ppl sometime next week.

 

On Tuesday the ASDA on my commute was 188.7 in the morning and 190.7 by the time I drove back past at 4pm. Bonkers.

 

Main factor is that oil is priced in US$. In 2012 we got around $1.6 for a £. Currently we get around $1.25. That means we are paying 25% more whatever else is going on. Sterling has been in steady decline against the mighty $ for 20+ years

 

Need to get the Athletic on the case. They'll soon have those prices at lower GBP levels.

 

I rarely drive past ASDA so have nothing to add
