I had a look on the Stoke forum after the Villa game, it seems that after their relegation he wasn't bothered and was a bad influence in the dressing room and wanted out. So let's be careful what we wish for, we saw that with some individuals this time last year, if we go down then it may not be the best thing if he joined us permanently. Obviously there may have been other factors and the above comment is only based on supporters' opinions.

Would make sense, they were heavily favoured to go back up! While he may have been a bad egg, I highly doubt he'd have been the only one, and it doesn't necessarily mean he'd be one here

I think he's looked our best midfielder in every game bar yesterday where the early yellow card completely stopped him from being able to play his game. We need someone to do the job he does. Good engine, sits deep, sweeps up and breaks up play and then moves the ball on quickly. His footwork is actually pretty decent as well. His performances have certainly dropped off a cliff far less than most of the rest of the team, at least. I'd drop Kucka long before Etebo.
He's got a little bit of Kante about him (albeit at a much lower level lol), agreed that I would drop Kucka rather than Etebo, we must give Tufan a go to try to add a bit of creativity to this rather workmanlike midfield

Shame, would have liked to see Sissoko and Etebo providing a solid base for Tufan to get forward. We'll be forced to play Kucka now who is already looking leggy in the PL.

I think we'll certainly be brining him back in January. Apparently there was a clause in the loan saying we can do that. Etebo won't be back until after the AFCON at the very earliest. There is bound to be some rustiness before getting up to speed also. It's a shame as he was doing well, but midfield is the only part of the squad where we do have some adequate cover.
I can assure you it's very painful...actually hurt more when it happened than the full achilles rupture I had a few years earlier.
