Other than Fletch this guy is going to be our best signing. Based on today's clips he can pass and shoot which is what I look for in my midfielders.

 

From what clips (albeit limited) I’ve seen of him this pre season he looks a steal

We've seen on so many occasions that some players can look like a half-arsed donkey for one club, only to shine elsewhere, and well, it certainly looks like Etebo is more up for it here than he was at Stoke!

 

His ability to keep the ball in tight areas is very impressive, same goes for Kucka.

Very composed when under pressure, but does tend to overplay dometimes. No time to do that in the Prem. I'm sure he'll learn, though.

I've only seen him play twice.......and I've been very impressed with what I've seen. He seems to lose the ball with a cluster of players around him, only to emerge with it at his feet. He seems to do it every time, so it's not a fluke. He's got brilliant ball retention under extreme pressure. Excellent player and great signing. No wonder Gino has been chasing this guy for a long time.

 

He sort of reminds me of Quina… but instead of pirouetting it straight to the opposition he just emerges with the ball every time.

Important how many games would trigger the clause, because he'll be away for a fair chunk of the season. Wasn't Dawson's 19 or 20 league games or something?

 

If you mean at AFCON, that’s only 3 league games.

 

I think they go 2 weeks before the competition starts, and if they go far, that's 6 weeks they'll be away for (plus do they have to quarantine on the way back?)

 

We’ll see. I know their countries will want them sooner p, but when I looked recently even for the next World Cup the official release is only 7 days before the tournament starts. Can’t see CAF being able to insist on more for their continental tournament.

 

In terms of quarantine...won't they have to arrive in the country well in advance of the tournament?

 

No idea what the rules will be in January but currently Cameroon has no quarantine period for those who test negative on arrival from the UK.

Where did he go? Was he just carried by Kucka last week or something? We know all about WTE, Cathcart and Masina, but Etebo was a big disappointment today

Lets face it the whole team was a big disappointment today, including THE KID!!!

 

Was worried when he pulled up, especially as it didn't seem to be an impact injury (I'd have been tempted to bring him off then!), but another good game from our midfield general I thought, lots of energy and was constantly snapping at them

 

Should be looking to make his deal permanent before the end of the window.
