The Daily Mail doing its best again to discredit rather than actually inform.

As has been said it’s the worlds weirdest cover up, as the results so far are completely out in the open. From experience post mortem results at the ‘gross’ stage mean relatively little. Some cattle and alpaca carcasses will show gross tb pathology with typical creamy tuberculosis lesions. These are mostly found in the lungs but can be found in other tissues such as the brain, muscle and gastrointestinal tract. However the vast majority of TB positive animals at slaughter will be submitted to additional testing via culture. This process does take months as culturing TB is actually relatively difficult in comparison to other bacteria. On occasion TB will not be cultured, these animals were either false positives to the skin test or present with subclinical disease.

As is mine of you. I’m convinced at this point that your an animal rights activist. You seem to continually ignore my criticisms of Defra to suit your own narrative. It’s a trait commonly seen in antivaxxers, Q Anon supporters and conspiracy theorists.

I’ve tried to demonstrate a balanced argument and show you why things ended up happening in a certain way but you continue to behave irrationally. I think everyone has seen on this thread how you react and would tend to agree.

As for me I’m done with you, no point trying to discuss something with someone who is so clearly incapable of forming a constructive debate.

I’d be highly surprised if LTC68 was an animal rights activist as that would involve getting off his arse once in a while.

But you could show agreement a tad more clearly with his point that once in the vets’ care the animal is in the vets’ care and they are professionals, entirely responsible for following their own code of conduct.

You two need to grab some scrumpy and settle it Somerset style.

Oh I undoubtedly concede that the animals welfare was compromised at the end of its life. I even included that in my earlier posts as seen as above, however LTC68 apparently seems to refuse to acknowledge my comments. I also stated that I believe the owner and animals rights activists also acted in ways that led to his welfare being compromised, and I maintain that to be the case.

At this point in my career I have euthanised my fair share of animals. I have always tried to make the experience as calm and unstressful for the animal as possible. Whether this has been via use of a captive bolt gun, or by use of barbiturates I feel that I have always put the animals welfare first, sometimes at the cost of upsetting an animals owner.

I have been involved in several euthanasia cases via the RSPCA where the police have had to be called to help control the situation and it is not pleasant for anyone in such a situation. Stress levels are high and so I can understand how this situation may have happened, particularly when the case is so high profile.

I would be more than happy to meet Tempesta for a drink, although scrumpy would have to be off the table. It always gives me a shocking headache.

Whatever you Defra apologist, don't bother us with your facts and years spent studying veterinary medicine. Go back to supporting burglars or whatever else it was you were supposed to be doing. If we want to get angry on incomplete evidence that's our right!

  6. Excuse me!

I've done my fair share of spraying citronella around fields I'll have you know!

It's not only doing good work, and great fun, and great exercise, but having a row with a **** on a horse is incredibly stress relieving

That’s a very difficult undertaking and bound to give a different perspective to those who do it. I don’t underestimate the potential stress of it.

Awww I thought it was going to be someone to point out that it transpires that pets WERE given priority over people in the great Penny Dreadful Charidee Airlift.

It seems there was a lot of lying and covering up going on at the time. Of course, we've come to expect that.

  13. It's right that a government department can waste tens of thousands of pounds of tax money, kill an animal, and create a PR disaster based on zero evidence?

    An interesting view

Not the biggest fan of Johnson but I don't see a problem with him authorising this flight.

As I understand it, the flight was privately funded, no seats were taken by animals and there were spare seats offered to the authorities but they didn't take up the offer.

I don't understand why he denied his involvement in the first place. Is it just that his natural instinct is to always lie now?

Can anyone explain it to me?

I think the problem is that in the panic and scramble to get people out, using a precious take off slot for a load of rescue pets effectively stopped a larger passenger flight.

He probably lied because he thought to be seen supporting the flight when our own loyal afghan mercenaries were left to their fate looks bad on the front page of the Daily Mail.

  19. The last British fight out of Kabul was on Saturday 28th

Only then was the nowzad flight allowed in, I believe it landed very late on that Saturday

Here's Pen waiting for his flight in an almost empty airport, a single US military plane in the back ground, with flights about once every 3 hours

A busy airport has flights about once every 3 minutes

The reason the British military left was because there were no more Afghan evacuees inside the airport

The Taliban had taken total control of the city & airport boundary and had stopped allowing any more Afghans to enter several days before

There was no one left to evacuate, so the idea the Nowzad flight was pets over people being pushed by some MPs and all of the media is a total falsehood

I understand they want to remove Boris, but pedalling lies makes them no better than he

At this point it doesn't matter if no.10 prioritised people or animals. No10 (according to the leaks) did intervene, despite stating that it didn't.

And if so, the PM is blatantly lying about something that according to the above feels pretty justifiable. Imagine how truthful he is being about things which are not at all justifiable.

That is the scandal. The cover up is always worse than the "crime".

  24. sydney_horn

Exactly this. I think there is a perfectly acceptable justification for authorising this flight especially if it did not impede the evacuation of any people.

The fact Johnson prefers to deny and lie about this does make you wonder what else he is happy to lie about.
