My thoughts exactly on the highlighted part. All credit to @Peter from DNSYE Podcast in trying with a few fellow fans to organise something that might have Gino attending. Its impossible to please each and every fan or poster on here but fair play for trying to achieve something.

Like any CEO/Owner they can always point to JM Keynes in saying "when the facts change i change my mind" so anything said is no guarantee as they can then say well XYZ happened so we couldn't and XYZ can mean any or a number of things.

We want to see actions carried out that change the performance of the team we follow-that may not result in promotion next season but we want to see a more positive outcome on the pitch with players giving their best and leaving everything on the pitch and no regrets not apologies the next day.

I have renewed my season ticket as have my wider family to hopefully see this.

 

Look, the argument about people having 'the last word' on here is as old as time. It's a forum.

But the tactic of abusing someone (as you did) and then suggesting immediately within the same post after that if they respond, it is only because they 'want the last word' is as transparent as it gets. So you can offend someone massively and say whatever you want - but then try and shame them into not being able to respond? Bore off. Thats the tactic TuT often used to try.

Season 16 of The Forum was looking like it was running out of ideas until the writers created "Amersham", a relentlessly positive character (unless emigration or republicanism was brought up) to really shake things up.

I think that's fine. Given that you can't include everyone, having a baseline requirement that people be physically present is entirely reasonable. Adding unnecessary AV aspects just makes everything more complicated without really offering any advantage, and ultimately the experience of the overseas fan isn't really any different to any other fan listens on the radio/watches televised matches in the UK.

The important part is that a cross section of the fanbase gets an opportunity to post (hopefully sensible) questions, and you can easily accomplish that without needing to accommodate long distance call-ins who will inevitably experience technical issues.

You couldn’t have been expected to know, you’re not in the U.K.

 

I think it was @UEA_Hornet who said earlier here that it's pretty obvious that the club are trying to make out they want to do this but that the fans are somehow responsible for it not happening because there's too many groups, or whatever.

The club should be owning this and making it happen, but are abdicating responsibility. I expect that it won't happen and come August there's some narrative that says "well we tried but you couldn't agree".

Given that, DNSYE are trying to do something. I doubt it will come to anything and if it does, it will be lip service and a charade.

If done right, it does though give the fans the opportunity put the club in a spot where they have to be accountable - not from any Q&A, but actually the event itself taking place.

If it's organised, and more importantly, publicised, that fans are ready to have the session and the club continue to kick the can down the road, then failure to deliver it will see more fans move to the Pozzo Out side.

The event, if it ever happens,will always be a sham, but the club very publicly weaseling out of its responsibility will damage them considerably with those on the fence or still pro.

The club are banking on the fans being divided to get out of it.
