Was due to be my first game in over two years (last one I booked was Leicester in March 2020 (also postponed). Down over €300 on flights. I am determined to get to at least two games before the season finishes. Was expecting this though.

Thanks Dom. It is not a disaster, by any means, and people seriously impacted by Covid have far more to worry about. My boy, who will be an adult next year, is very disappointed, but you have to experience set backs to learn to enjoy life. It will make it all the more enjoyable when we eventually get over.

Perspective is important. A friend of mine is coming to terms with his wife dying suddenly, leaving him with a family of four to deal with their grief. My own dad died two years ago, with a progressive illness. Things do not go your way and you find a way to cope. I’m pissed off about the loss of a few bob on the flights, but no where even close to the level of frustration and anger with the 2nd half performance against Brentford and the concession of the last minute goal. These feelings pass. I will hopefully get to many more games with my boys who, from now on, will be minding me rather than the other way round. I still recall each of their faces when they encountered Harry Hornet for the first time. Missing one match is not tragic. It would be much worse if I had travelled and then the game was called off.
This is another good match to have up our sleeve. Hopefully these matches won't be rearranged during AFCON. Makes our run a tougher one now though. Next game is Wolves away then West Ham and Spurs at home. Lose all those, which I'd say is likely, then it's 7 defeats in a row......and 10 defeats from 12 games for Ranieri. Can't see him surviving that with our board.
Well I guess it means the member who was going to type the preview can have a rest now. In all seriousness, I am glad the club made the correct decision. This weekend is going to be a mish-mash of games scattered around all the divisions. Not sure Final Score should even bother.

The emphasis being on the work "squad". When every key player is fit, our starting eleven is probably good enough to finish top half. Problem is the squad is wafer thin, and most of the back-ups (or those who in the end should be back-ups because they haven't lived up to early season promise) are poor and for the most the part there's no middle ground - when we're good, we're very very good and when we're bad we're terrible (that largely explains why we only have one draw). Also it's a shame we've saved some of our better performances for games we have little chance of getting anything in (Spurs away, Chelsea home) and the worse ones for games we should be winning - I'd take more Liverpool-type hammerings in the games against Chelsea and Man City if we could get more than zero points against Southampton and Brentford.
It's staggering, but not surprising given their obsession with social media and the total cr@p peddelled on it, that around a third of players are completely unvaccinated. A quarter of all EFL players polled were still not planning to be vaccinated. No wonder it's slicing through numerous squads like a hot knife through butter. Somebody quoted on the WO site: "Addicted to social media, impressionable and below average intelligence. Perfect storm." I think they may be right.
Apparently the players rumour mill is suggesting that Christian Ericson’s issues arose, in part, from him having had the vaccination.
