One Thing That Isn’t Going Up Or Down .

I couldn't agree more with this post but the random hyphen and apostrophe have got me raging.

 

I have received this email from the club!

But why?

Desperation?

Or is an hors d'oeuvre for an incoming from Pozzo?!

 

I can walk to the ground, sit with friends and family, am fortunate enough to be able to afford renewal. Not that taken with watching football on TV at home when I have little attachment to either team. So I would not replace going to Watford with other football time or expense. I have reduced the number of away games I go to, because the football has been so poor, I can’t justify giving up half the weekend for it.

I will be very happy when we are swamped with fair weather supporters clamouring for season tickets. It will mean the team are competitive and the football appealing.

The one upside of the current situation, is that there might be enough people giving up, that we can move to better seats.

 

It's the norm. Football is not about people now. Most clubs in the top divisions are the same and the connection fans feel with their clubs is very distant

 

It’s fine to admit the way the club is currently run doesn’t bother you, and hence that’s why you’re renewing, just own it, but it’s extremely disingenuous to tell people the real reason they aren’t renewing is because “thats just modern football”.

As you are renewing, I really don’t get how you feel you can speak on behalf of those that arent?

 

Yeah but, the thing is, really, at the end of the day, when it comes down to it, when you get to the nuts and bolts, he didn't do that.

 

Just for clarity. I am not renewing specifically because I despise the ownership of Gino Pozzo. If we get a new owner or he completely steps back then I’ll renew irrespective of how poor the team is.

 

I'll be renewing - the football has been dire but I enjoy the social side of going and I need something to moan and winge about to the wife or she'll think I'm happy or something.

I see there's a season ticket waiting list section. Really? Is anyone really waiting anymore?

 

Have they scrapped the student season ticket? Lol. A dark day for the 21+ blaggers. I’d imagine that waiting list will soon come down.

 

I'm not speaking for anybody else. I'm saying that it's just our club that feels a disconnect. I am renewing because I like going to football, meeting up with the same group I've done for 30 years. I don't like the way the club is run

 

I doubt it. My wife was on the waiting list for a couple of months, then close season last year, I rang up and they said "yes" to her getting one before they had even checked who she was.

 

Fair enough and you're sticking to your guns. There are many reasons people have for not renewing, Gino, success, money.

 

Do people miss him that much?

Yes, an ominous portent of the coming level of hubris….which as everyone knows leads to eventual nemesis.

 

They could follow cricket’s lead and have 3 head coaches at the same time…one for the league, one for the League Cup & one for the FA Cup. At least the last 2 will deliver the benefit of being (extremely) short term appointments.
