Bournemouth 1977 was my second ever game. A 2-1 midweek win. Think we rose from 4th to top as a result (having risen from 8th to 4th after my first game, a 2-1 win vs Darlington on the Saturday). Happy days...proper football !!

Reading the old programmes is interesting. Lately I've been going through the youth and reserve player lists. Very few of the youths seem to make it to be professionals. After watching the tournament that the u18(?) team played in Georgia, based on previous teams, I would be surprised if more than one will ever make it as a Championship player. If they are lucky they may play in the National league. That isn't putting the players down. It is just accepting that it is very difficult to step up, for whatever reason.
