Don't worry, you're just every bit the pillock I have you as.

380,000 does seems rather a lot. You'd think they'd get a better accountant! Maybe it was fake news - in which case it achieved its objective by bringing my p155 to the boil. I wish I could think were I saw it. I'll have a rummage

  5. Thanks. So firstly, the Adam Smith Institute (one of the shady Tufton St cabal by the way) says it is "highly likely" that anyone with more than $1m in liquid assets is earning more than £1m a year. Calling bullshytt on that for a start. ****, I'm halfway to that (in $) and I'm paying basic rate tax. It then assumes that these "£1m+ earners" are currently paying £384k a year in tax. The only reason they would be moving because of Rachel Reeves is the abolition of non-dom status (the other changes are pretty marginal). Those people are by definition only paying £30k on their non-UK income. If they are really wealthy enough to make these tax arrangements, you can be pretty damned sure that they have off-shored the bulk of their earnings, and if their money is earned in the UK from businesses or rent, then it will continue to be taxed here. So calling double bullshytt on that.

It then goes on to add that there may be more tax lost because of VAT etc. These people will still have presence here, 180 days a year or whatever, they'll still have their cars and houses here, they will just have to manage their time more, spend a bit more time in Monaco or wherever. You don't just close a profitable business in the UK to avoid tax - you manage it from elsewhere.

In all, it's politically motivated stack of dubious assumption piled on dubious assumption.

What ‘new ideologies’ are you referring to. If anything IMO the problem for ‘the left’ is a lack of discernible ideology.

Cooper is set to reject the findings of a report she commissioned on extremism.

This looks like another example of poor politics from this government. Can anyone give a good reason why she just doesn't accept the reports findings in full and implement them?

By not doing so she has opened herself, and the government, up to criticism (rightly so imho)....

Starmer in hot water over claims he broke tier 4 COVID lockdown measures?

The circus in Downing Street is as bad as the one at Watford!

Should he resign then if he’s broken the law?

Yes he should. He called for Johnson to go. And even though Johnson held on until he was finally brought down by his own party for promoting a sex pest, Starmer would be hypocritical to hold on.

However there needs to be conclusive proof that he broke the rules at the time. It's often forgotten that the rules changed constantly and what was forbidden one day was fine the next.

I'm not sure that Starmer resigning would be the win the opposition thinks it would be. He is becoming increasingly toxic (especially with the press targeting him at every turn).

A "fresh face" and a "new administration" that recognises the "failures" of the Starmer government could give Labour a "new manager bounce" in the polls.

Whatever happens, I don't think Starmer will lead Labour into the next GE so a change now might well be a good move for Labour imho.

Agreed. Labour do have form for not applying the rules they tried to hold everyone else to of course.

On the other hand, given the **** show that is likely to replace him I'm happy to give him a pass on this one.

No, the same way I wouldn't expect a PM to step down over a surfing ticket.

What a load of nonsense. The government setting the rules at the time were throwing parties and people think starmer should step down over meetings for professional purposes?

I bet you screamed for Boris to go.....

  15. Bubble

He didn't just call for Boris to go.

The slimy little weasel dragged Boris through the mud and had the audacity to stand there in the commons and MISLEAD the house with an oscar worthy performance.

    This is frankly unbelievable!

I'm sure he will be defended to the hilt on here though by the Sheeple.

I'm struggling to see what the allegation is, but do you really think the leader of the opposition carrying out meetings with professionals for a professional purposes, with masks, is the same as piss ups in downing street?

I'm sure you never stood 1.9m from someone and you were a stickler for the lockdown rules

Where have I defended Starmer? IF he broke the COVID lockdown rules then he should resign now.

But is there anything in that video that he said about Johnson that was untrue? He MAY be guilty of hypocrisy but that doesn't make Johnson honest.

And if he wasn't demanding Johnson's resignation for his COVID rule breach, for which Johnson received a fixed penalty fine, then that, if anything, is a reason why Starmer feels he doesn't need to resign either (he's wrong IF he did break the rules imho).

But let's not forget that this is not why Johnson resigned. He resigned after half his cabinet resigned over him promoting a sex pest. Nothing to do with COVID rules or Starmer "dragging him through the mud" (which is part of the leader of the opposition's job tbf).

    I did actually.

Why do you feel I wouldn't have been a stickler for the rules?

You can't see what the allegation is? Are you f**king stupid? Travelling outside of your 'tiered zone' to another tiered zone as a non-key worker to the leader of the Liebour Party's house (or was it Lord Ali's house? Another contentious lockdown question to be asked of our esteemed leader, not to mention 'Beer Korma' gate with 'ol Fag Ash Lil and Rachel from accounts) to give 'vocal lessons'?

All this whilst 'John Robinson' couldn't be at his wife's side as she was dying.

We see you, Starmer, we see you.

I can't believe you're trying to justify Starmer's actions and compare them to Boris Johnson's.

Well, actually I can to be fair.

Fine with me. Not really that controversial.

Btw did you call for Johnson to go? Haven't had an answer yet.

    Looks like I need to....

My gripe is not with lockdown measures being broken.

My gripe is with high and mighty, law-abiding Starmer putting on an oscar worthy performance in the commons putting Boris on blast for spending 9 minutes at a 'gathering'. When all along he was allegedly having visits from a voice coach (no doubt for longer than 9 minutes).

Live by the sword, die by the sword. Starmer was the one that said he would resign if he broke lock down rules. It appears he may well have done, so I expect his resignation. He won't resign over this, therefore he is a hypocrite.

Andrew Gwynne now sacked from Labour Party for saying he hopes all the OAP’s that didn’t vote Labour die before the next election.

    What a charming man.
