  2. possibly he may have the right in his contract to consider offers above a certain value

am i the only one who thinks this whole story is fabricated by his agent in a vain attempt to engineer Iggy a new and much improved deal either with us or flush out other interest in the UK?

he will get a new contract offer im sure, just show some class, get your head down and score goals and the money will come sooner or later.

I think that is the answer. Probably has a £10m buyout clause in his contract, hence the immediate high offer. Would be interesting to know what Deeney's figure would be in his new contract, I would guess at £20m.

I reckon at least £25m. If he has a good season then a £20m bid next summer wouldn't be completely out of the question. Although I hope we've gone all Barcelona and put a ridiculous clause in like £100m.

I think it's part of the "gentlemen's agreement" between club and players that if a good offer (in terms of wages) comes they discuss it with the player because they're not going to keep him "chained" to the usual Pozzo's very long contracts.
A player "forced" to refuse a transfer that could double or treble his wages usually is not the most motivated in the world to play for the team after that, so they try to avoid this.

Definitely the hand of his agent in all of this. Every interview with Iggy himself this summer, both from normal sources and the African news type ones, have involved him saying he loves it here and can't wait to play in the PL. Yet whenever he's not quoted it's always sources close to the player saying he's after a move.

wouldn't be too worried on second thought, it is most likely he was allowed to be offered a contract out of courtesy as it paid so well. We didn't say you can go, and he said i dont want to. Just more confirmation of his loyalty

The lack of loyalty towards Ighalo on this forum never ceases to amaze me.

This is the 2nd time this summer that the majority of posters and said they'd be happy to sell. Have you not seen what he brings to this team? The man is a ****ing legend in the making.

The only way I'd see him going is if a new deal couldn't be reached and he's told the club he wants to leave. He's still got a few years on his deal so either we've accepted a bid because he's told us he wants to go or his agent is **** stirring.

The club might have spoken to Villa a couple of weeks ago & been open to a hefty offer but with the pre-season he's having I'd be surprised if they still are. Especially from a potential rival. That Di Marzio bloke does know his stuff but even so I doubt this will lead anywhere.

Hunting heir of Benteke. Aston Villa has opened the prospect of looking for a striker, strong physically, to aim ahead of farewell of the Belgian striker who likes to half Premier League. At this time, ongoing contacts with Watford for Odion Ighalo: former Udinese striker is a concrete idea, you are dealing waiting to see if the Watford will get the green light to the sale or not.

That's not all. Why Aston Villa has made more than a thought of Khouma Babacar, jewel of Fiorentina. Before its renewal, in fact, the Aston Villa has in every way to fit to bring Babacar in Premier. And even after the signing of the attacker until 2019 with the club purple are ongoing attempts, although the operation is quite complex, after the renewal even more. Even for this, the alternative is taking Ighalo share for Aston Villa

Well they're getting £32.5 million for Benteke so are likely to be giving more than £10 million for Ighalo but his pre-season form has made me think that's too low.

Only worth selling if the offer is ridiculous by which I mean £15 million plus because Charlie Austin is worth £15 million now after scoring 18 goals so I'd say that is around Ighalo's peak value, scoring 15 league goals this season would still not take his value around £20 million so yeah bit long winded but that's my two penn'orth.

Yep, even an unfeasibly large offer might not do it. The Pozzos want sustained Prem football more than they want the cash right now

If we sold Ighalo for 11 mil and bought Doumbia for 7 mill and Berghuis for 4 mill, you d say that was good business.

Not with dimarzio. However, I can't see it happening, Adebayor/ Austin will be their first choices.

Ighalo has no Premier League experience so, by definition, he must be rubbish. Why would Villa buy him?

  33. Nnnn

    Nnnn First Team

Maybe, but The Pozzos do not need the money in any way shape or form so why not all 3? They don't need to sell to buy. The only limit to their ability to brings players in is that of the creditability of a new Prem club, not the cash.
