I don’t think there’s much wrong with the formation we use - it’s just that Xisco set it up to be a team on the front foot without realising we aren’t at the level to dominate games in that way in this league. The same formation but with a far greater emphasis on defending and quick countering would be the way to go IMO. The shape wasn’t really the problem - it was the way we implemented it and didn’t change it mid-game when it wasn’t working. That was Xisco’s biggest failing.

But we do need a player to sit in front of the back four.

I do still largely think it doesn’t matter who is in charge - our lack of business in bringing on a compote to DM and new starting CB will be the biggest downfall and will ultimately probably see any manger fail. The squad is just not balanced at all.

Well, Ranieri definitely favours a 4-4-2, but the precise machinations of it vary a lot, I mean he isn't called the Tinkerman for nothing!

442 when we havent got many midfielders is worrying. Prob see Sema back there.

I hope sticks with the 433 in attack 451 in defence as it suits our squad make up best imo.

I just watched a piece on SSN, and they talked about what went wrong and Watford's hire and fire model. Of course we were condemned overall, but Sue Smith was trying to be diplomatic. I think their comments were actually fair. Stephen Warnock was the other pundit and he said he was actually at the Leeds v Watford game at the weekend. He said it's one of the worst Premier League performances he's ever seen (talking about Watford of course) and said if Watford stay up, it will be another football miracle from Ranieri because Watford are that poor.

He absolutely slaughtered us, saying how mistake ridden, slow and lethargic we were. He also picked out WTE as having a torrid time and focused on Sissoko making the wrong decision in a pass to Rose on one occasion, in the example they showed, stating that was happening right throughout the match. He also said Xisco looked out of his depth.
