I'm seconds away from tuning in to the FTRE's innovative new live episode on The Athletic™️ - wish me luck!
Hopefully doesn’t get too close and gives anything away ! BTW is Dennis definitely fit ? “Emmanuel Dennis, Kiko Femenía and Christian Kabasele, who will all be assessed before a decision is made about their involvement at the weekend” Knowing our luck he will be the one not quite ready !
Playing Cleverley and Sissoko as a two would be risky but I'm not sure what choice we have. Cleverley, Kucka and Tufan are all too ponderous on the ball and once they go tearing out of position there's no chance of them getting back. Sissoko is great but he's already shown a couple of times he can fall asleep and lose a runner from midfield. Thank god we've signed the excellent defensive midfielder Kayembe.
Surprised Kabasele hasn’t been named as a new signing by the club. He’s been labelled as one for months.
No. He would be great alongside Dennis but we don't really have the squad to play two up front. How would you line up?
I reckon ranieri will go same formation as spurs442 so midfield and defence will have loads of cover and we will score on the counter attack with pedro when he comes off the bench second half COYH
The players I listed are players that are doubtful to start (Kamara and Samir bc they are new signings and Foster and Dennis bc of injuries). On top of that, I don't think that having Sierralta instead of Cathcart or some other cb is as big of an improvement as having Foster instead of Bachman, Samir instead of any other cb, Kamara instead of Rose or Dennis instead of 1 of our other forwards.
Remember when Troy Deeney said that we had to drop the ‘little old Watford’ mindset? That’s when a lot of fans turned on him. People don’t want success, they just want to sit quietly in the stand and have a lovely day out. ****s.
I haven't seen a game since Brentford away - against West Ham I gather the verdict was unanimously awful (worst performance of the season?), Spurs a horrible game to watch but at least we showed some determination and almost got a point and that elusive clean sheet, Leicester was crap but that was expected. Oh, and Sema played in all of them (even starting against Spurs, and playing the whole match apart from that strange 100th minute substitution for Cucho!) and was useless every time. Since Newcastle even with some new signings are clearly worse than all those three, I'm hoping for some improvement as we'll be more open against them and less prone to defensive blunders, especially if we start at least one of the new defenders. On the other hand, it's an away game and we tend to be pretty negative in them even when opponents are there for the taking...
Against West Ham at least Dennis scored a lovely goal - after that it was poor and we were overrun. But the the worst performance of the season was, without doubt, at Leeds.
Is it just us that has massively weird fans? Or are they at all clubs? I remember the power clappers at QSF 0-0 draw at home to Sheff Utd. Everyone else funnelling out, no boos. But these two blokes wanted to make it quite clear they were superior fans to everyone else. Absolutely bizarre.
I would imagine most clubs have them to at least some degree, but they stand out more relatively-speaking amongst the small overall numbers of our fanbase...
Tbh in the SEJ you get the same sort of reaction regardless of the result really . There is quiet moaning or groaning to themselves or the person next door. People leave early or quietly Some clap or boo depending on the result Some clap no what happens (one bloke makes a point of it ..) The ref gets a bit of stick Check they phone to see how other results went A quick and quiet good bye .
King as the striker, Dennis on the wings, Kucka to start over Pedro. Sent from my TECNO P701 using Tapatalk
I am kind of dreading this one. We are all over the shop. But.... beating Howe's boys would be delicious.
I'm I the only one expecting a 5-3-2 Saturday? All the new boys to start, Foster in goal with Dennis and King as the two.
