No wonder youngsters think its the end of the world when they don't get a Pro contract - seen the money they could get and its taken away from them..

Erm...really? I honestly think you're reading too much into it. He's just stating facts so far as I can see.

Chalobah loan at Forest runs out on Jan 15. Be interesting to see if Chelsea want to move him on somewhere else now, given that he is not getting much game time from the Scottish Holloway.

My mystic prediction says Nat and Vydra back with us. But I did also have £20 on England to win The Ashes 4-0 and Trott to be leading run scorer! COYH

I'm no expert on remuneration packages but it does seem as though there's room for creativity within football.

Forest chose to meet Chelsea's price to rent NC for a year with a 6m break clause. In return Chelsea have to accept that their asset might not be returned in the same condition and that this may well affect it's returned value, perhaps permanently. Alternatively Chelsea could have rented the asset to us for a reduced fee but with assurances that the asset will be carefully looked after and returned in a superior condition, ideally with an enhanced value. Chelsea took the gamble that they could have it all and who knows, they might be right? But it's clear that the sole influencing factor was the short term problem - who will meet the immediate costs of financing Chelsea's asset, not what is best in the long term to preserve and enhance the asset.

If Chelsea and football generally had realigned their priorities for long term benefits then the financial challenge could have been looked at more creatively.

Clubs need to start with how they reward and entice players (on both permanent as well as short term contracts i.e loans) in ways other than purely in cash. When you look at the City, high performers are incentivised with stock, LTIPS, pension contributions, benefits in kind etc. We don't hear much of that in football ... and is football that 'special' it can't adapt? To me most football struggles with the concept of anything other than a weekly wage .. a pay packet stuffed with notes and loose change. I know it isn't actually like that but, certainly outside the Prem, the industry seems stuck in the past with little creative thinking taking place and when the only winner is short term greed then you see the fabric of an industry becoming undone where ultimately only the richest survive. That can't be good for football or society generally.

Then why is he even talking about putting the money into a trust? If there is no implication in his words, that point is entirely irrelevant. He has very clearly constructed a link between what Chalobah was on last year (when he was playing) and what's he's on this year (now that he isn't). It's not even remotely subtle.

i don't know what you mean by sustainable. prices will stay the same unless the clubs think they can get more, in which case they'll increase it. if people stop going, then prices will go down.

Perhaps I am not reading correctly, but has someone really suggested that the wage an adult earns has to be paid into a Trust? What planet are we living on? If that is the wage you get for being a footballer then do as you please with it. How would you lot like it if I decided that a payrise you got was too much for your own good and swiped it off into a Trust until you were 50!??

Haha - it's actually Dyche who said it !

How much is Dyche on? I think he'd perform better and be a bit more focused at Burnley if he was on less. He can have the rest when he retires.

Looks like he'll be joining Middlesbrough with one or two others.

Karanka's connection with Mourinho showing fruition already.

Wouldn't want him back anyway as we have enough cover now with Merkel. Really hasn't kicked on during his stay at Forest.

I would not want him back because he can no longer play the chalobah role

I have a bit of an issue with loanees (Ex those from Granada/Udinese) as they deprive our own players of experience.

Whilst this is true, you sense from reports and some Forest fans that he hasn't really put a shift in-of course you also have to wonder how good he looked because we had two premiership class players alongside him last year in Vydra and Abdi which gave him the time and options to play

A good player nevertheless but again we would ask how much of his wages Boro are to pay-if anything like Forest then we would not have been interested and Sannino needs to look at the players we have -once back from injury-and are getting (Bellerin/Merkel and Ranegie) before we considered shipping another midfielder in

Last thought -we got Mcechran who i thought looked well off the pace and he has gone back so maybe the Chelsea connection will fall away now without Zola

Everyone remembers the wonder goal but few remember the 3 or 4 game spells where you used to get home and couldn't remember if he was even on the pitch !!

Just over 6 months ago I started a thread, Chalobah SUPERSTAR IN MAKING OR BEING OVERRATED. I said from sep to end of Jan he was very good for us but I could not see the world class performances as other people were making out and I also thought from beginning of Feb to end of season he was our weakest link, He gave the ball away to many times and his attitude looked like it had changed because he stood on the pitch with the attitude that he was now better than everyone else but he was by far our worst player for those last months of the season.
Because of what I said I remember getting saluted by everyone and how I know nothing and everybody telling me what a world class player he will be and he will become the best ever player to were an England shirt,
So my question is, do you all still think what a class player he is. Or if you go on the forest forums and they seem to echo some of the later comments I have made, do you now think some of my comments were correct.

He's a 19 year old kid who is incredibly talented. Rather than appreciate what he did for us last season you'd prefer to pick out the times he was dodgy, which shockingly enough happens to kids in their first season as a professional. Plus you're not only reading Forest fans comments but believing them. Sad, very sad.
