It took the FA 6 days to sort this out but about 2 weeks to ban that Preston striker who didn't even contest the charge.
Nothing on the official site yet but FA have said so . https://x.com/FAspokesperson/status/1852380404201754667 Not much to see here . https://x.com/rio_woolf/status/1852387180443742360
Difference is because the offence of biting carries a much longer suspension it has to go through a different FA process. It also seems that the Sissoko incident only came to light because Rovers’ Travis specifically went to the ref after the game to report the butt. The return fixture up there could be ‘tasty’.
I'm not sure I agree with a 3 game ban on the back of a Blackburn players sour tittle tattle and a grainy long range image. Surely there was more evidence than that?
Think it's a blessing in disguise for Sissoko as thought he was looking leggy last two games. Shame about timing though given fixture congestion
I am but an amateur in this field, but I would have imagined the evidence would have been the recorded footage of the game, no?
Presume there is more footage that has been seen than the 10 second clip above? Still nothing from the club - I presume they know!
One bonus which I don’t think has been mentioned is that, we only miss Sissoko for three complete games whereas when a player is sent off you miss them for the rest of that game as well. Had he been sent off in the Blackburn game it is unlikely we would have collected the 3 points considering the pen was awarded in the 74th minute, we would have been under a lot more pressure!
We did not really miss him on Saturday either, which is a good thing, as we appear to have added a decent addition to the MF in Dwomoh!!!
Said this when we signed him and looks like it's coming to fruition. Incredible that he's our captain when he's just here for a bit of jolly.
Should never have happened in the first place, was very obvious based on last seasons stats he was done for.
Absolute passenger today. Terrible performance but to be honest hasn't been good enough all season. Still not sure why we re-signed him to begin with.
Abysmal signing. Proper retirement contract this. Imagine him this time next year! Although the sage Wendover still insists he is a “fabulous” signing.
To be fair, he is a valuable squad player. But yeah, not a captain and not a starter. Just an elder statesman with 45 minutes in him. I wasn’t convinced that Livermore was finished, but only base that on last season’s surprisingly good showing.
Still cannot see why Pollock cannot be captain. He's probably our standout defender right now, gives a crap each game and although he has his faults the bloke can play through any injury. If that is not team motivation then I don't know what is. Maybe he isn't vocal enough to be captain, but he seems to love playing for us which is a key thing.
Not sure about Pollock not being vocal tbf, always seems to be talking and sharing instructions to me.
Pollock is captain material for sure. But he was on the fringes until Tom stepped in. I can see why Sissoko would be a natural choice in the circumstances, and Pollock’s consistently good performances wouldn’t have been foreseen by anyone. For TC to have made him captain at the start of the season would have been a huge statement and could have backfired.
