last time he was injured for a prolonged period was the 19/20 season after a knee surgery for spurs. Let’s hope he stays fit.
I thought we were looking to get a younger squad? Oh well, he fills a squad place and is back up. Saying that we offloaded Hamer and Livermore, so two out one in, does decrease the age ratio by one player. He should be able to do a job at this level, but I am not expecting him to pull up any trees.
I think it's a decent signing. You need to add experience to youth, and MS has abundant knowledge and expertise that could be critical. I understand people will have doubt due to his age and performances in our relegation season, but that was a considerably poor team playing at a much higher level. He has an impressive football background and has played at the highest level; poor players don't receive 71 caps for France, and as long as his legs haven't completely gone, which I suspect they haven't, considering he played frequently in Ligue 1 for Nantes then it is a good option in the championship, especially for a team that finished 15th in the Championship last season and seemingly don't have much of a transfer budget.
Longest medical in history? Are there tax concerns to iron out over his pension arrangements? I heard that Joe Biden was openly asking about signing the Moose at yesterday's NATO summit: "can he really still function as a credible box to box midfielder, even at Championship level, or should he be put out to pasture now, Sir Keir?". In true forum style the cry has gone up: has this ageing **** signed yet? Hoots mon, we need to know NOW! Is he loose yet?
To have any chance of promotion you need a spine of experience in your team. With the outgoing Livermore & Hamer we have a young squad and Sissoko will bring a wealth of experience. A decent signing, but that’s now 3 cheap/free signings. How the mighty Pozzo era has fallen. It really feels like we are back in the Bassini era
We're just back in the pre-Prem Pozzo era. Don't think we spent a penny on a transfer fee before promotion first time around.
Let's hope he still has the legs to to a job for us If he has, then he looks to be a decent signing. However, if his legs have gone, he will be a bench sitter, who hopefully, at best, could become our supersub???
Claiming he was best player “by a stretch” last time he was here seems a bit of a reach by Cleverley to me. I remember him for the “insert signature here” nonsense!
The boss really wanted him. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/24435091.cleverley-wanted-sissoko-back-soon-got-watford-job/ All the flat earthers on here claiming he was forced on to Clevs and he didn't want him!
