What is the point of Sissoko . . Other than being Tom's mate there is just no tangible benefit to having him in our starting XI. He was beyond crap when we were in the Premier League 3 years ago, what did anyone honestly think he'd bring to the Championship. Today's performance from him was arguably the worst in a disaster reel of performances we've already seen
He started the season ok but seems to be slow and ponderous now with teams getting past the midfield easily.
At least Kayembe comes up with the odd goal, what does Sissoko offer other than being able to pick his kids up?
He spends most of the game semi jogging around not bothering to get involved unless the ball is within a yard of him. There was a couple of moments in the second half where he refused to even bother contesting for a ball when he was the only yellow shirt there - he's an absolute shambles of a player. Surely Dwomoh wouldn't have been any worse
Another twilight years player living his best life on a decent salary and doing very little on the pitch to justify it. I would lump him in with Hamer and Livermore but to their credit they actually looked pretty decent at times especially last season.
There are light years even between the two of them and Sissoko. Fundamentally both of them were capable of performing the functions of their role, something that Sissoko is either genuinely not, or genuinely unprepared to.
Not according to Tom… And he’s right. Sissoko doesn’t even let starting in a league match get in the way of his recovery.
