Likewise, Lloyd. I'm sure one of them had the other on 'ignore'. This all feels a bit '1984' to me...
I'm already waving my hanky. My phone torch is lit. If you don't reinstate Burnsy soon I'll end up with a flat battery and RSI. You can keep rous though.
Perhaps he's been kicked out too? Keighley's not on anyone's ignore list - apart from that dyslexic bloke who comes on after a skinful every Saturday night perhaps. Has he been Wrongly accused? Mistaken identity? Miscarriage of justice? This is exactly why I will always be against the death penalty
Baffling decision to kick @Burnsy out. Was one of the more insightful posters and his insightfulness generally heavily outweighed his propensity to get into scraps. Lowerrous was also often very insightful but his insightfulness was not outweighed by his absurd argumentativeness. Either way, this seems like baffling over-moderation, absent a specific new incident that I must have missed.
I/we can categorically confirm that @Keighley is still a member of this forum. Where he is though, not sure. Could be taken a break from the forum or he's off somewhere correcting grammar replacing "can't" with "cannot".
I’ve got everyone on ignore, so as far as I was aware everyone is present and correct as this thread is empty.
How do you even get banned on here outside of the Politics section? The moderation is very light, even non existent at times (which is good) They really must've said/done something to upset the power's that be.
Without going into details, suffice to say there is often more going on behind the scenes than is always evident on the main threads.
‘Can’t’ is the verbal form of the (more formal) written ‘cannot’. However, when writing down a quote, it is permissible to write ‘can’t’. In less formal literature, it is even permissible (authorised by moderators and the grammar police) to write ‘can’t’ instead of ‘cannot’. Therefore you may, on occasion, see it so written on a footie forum such as ours. What is not permitted, and should lead to an immediate ban, is the totally incorrect use of the the term ‘loose’, when the correct form is ‘lose’. We may see this term in both forms more often as this season progresses, especially without any further player recruitment by our illustrious leaders. I believe any forum member incorrectly using ‘loose’ should receive an immediate yellow card one week sin bin ban. #Istandwithkeighley. #reistateburnsyandlowerrouse #watchtheincreaseuseofloosejusttopissoffthegrammarpolice
Not a fan of this very common modern day thing now where as soon as someone says or does something that somebody decides has crossed some arbitrary line, then they must be permanently cancelled/silenced. I've no idea what Burnsy said, but he didn't come across as somebody who would say anything insulting unless there had been prior escalation. And at the end of the day, if some 'hurty words' were said, just direct some back and be done with it. Instead, to prove a point, a member of the forum who had genuine insight at the club and could therefore effectively bring exclusives to this place has now been banished - to the detriment of those who actually preferred reading about factual goings on behind the scenes at WFC instead of the horrifically unfunny cheese nonsense that infests so many threads. I can think of a football club owner who rules with that kind of mindset. The forum is worse off without his input, imo - and I didn't agree with everything he said (which is sort of the point, isn't it?) Still, cross that arbitrary line at your peril.
As an ex-mod maybe I could explain a little. although I don't know the status and whether this is the case for anyone mentioned above but in general it took a lot for someone to lose the privilege of posting here. Not once during my active duty of a decade or so has it happend due to just one rule break. It has always been as a result of constant and persistent issues after multiple warnings with no lasting improvement. Often posts and threads are cleared up before members see them so I understand it's difficult for those not directly involved to understand if and why someone has gone. A banning is never a snap decision by only one person on the admin team. A team of volunteers that have to sometimes spend an awful lot of time cleaning up stuff that shouldn't be here. Decisions are made for the good of the forum and the majority of posters. The site intention was to be work and school safe a place for all and everyone who joins and posts will have accepted those rules. Something must be going right because it's still here.
I’m pretty certain he is a law lecturer at Bristol University or law school/school. Nothing on Google to mention a sudden death or absence through serious illness but it is odd that he has just disappeared without any prior indication.
As one atrocious person at spelling, I've always enjoyed his constant nudges. I'm probably due a detention at some point from him. Homework is always on time though. I do hope he is alright and we see him back soon.
Hang on, I got banned too and none of you ****s even noticed. Meanwhile those 2 non entities get the hash tag treatment.
