Agreed - but! He is very lightweight and very few other midfields will just sit off and say play how you like Watford - lets see how he goes at Bournemouth who will press us high and snap at our heels even in the tunnel before we start calling him iniesta!
I thought he was excellent yesterday; as for lightweight I'm not so sure of that? Yes he did get out muscled on a couple of occasions, but overall I thought he held his ground pretty well, lets face it, it was only his 2nd game and I am confident he will very quickly get wise to the championship bully boys and show them who is boss.
Looked very good against Charlton and like parades, a good home debut. It's how he performs at against the Ipswich, blackburn, bournemouth and Boros of this world. Anyone who can be a regular in the MExican national side, who are an excellent side, must be a good player so pleased that he is with us. We just have to be patient while he settles into life in the UK.
I don't know if anyone appreciates the enormous media storm this transfer has caused back in Mexico, he's an absolute celebrity. Real Madrid legend Hugo Sanchez is simply NOT having it.
Can somebody translate this please. I listened to this for 2 minutes when I realised I don't understand Spanish!!
I know the jist is that Hugo Sanchez is not impressed as Watford play direct football and nobody has heard of them.
Hugo said that its one step back on his carrer, in general thats the comment, but, its Hugo he thinks thats He's the only who deserves to triumph outside Mexico
No, he does seem to be implying that Layun won't be able to hack it on a cold tuesday night up in [Insert tinpot championship club name/stadium/city/county here].
The media says that was a step back for layuns carrer, but they say that see him happy and convinced of being in Watford
Christ he's good looking! He also clearly has a football brain -- should be made the brains of the team and encouraged to set off on the journey towards being a club legend
From the BBC - Miguel Layun (Watford, undisclosed fee from Granada) The attacking left-back had the hashtag #TodoEsCulpaDeLayun (It's all Layun's fault) embroidered on his football boots as a reminder of the barrage of criticism he received for years from Club America fans on social media. He has now turned the hashtag into a clothing brand This is why he joined Watford, he wanted to go somewhere he could feel at home.
I'm thinking of getting #getalifeitsonlyagame embroidered on my boots to remind me of the barrage of abuse I get on here.
