We finished top half (just) this season. Though if Pollock did play for us every week next season then I suspect we sure could end up much closer to the bottom.

Yeah, this would be insane unless we have two centre backs ready to come in, as we already need one for cover! This means it's almost certain to happen, and two centre backs will not be coming in.
He’s not a Championship level defender, so I don’t have an issue of him going to a League One club. That’s his level. Leaves us with no backup at all but that’s ok. I’ve felt for a while we’ll be getting a few from Udinese on 1st Sept. They have 10 CB’s. A couple will be coming to us, I’m sure.
Andrew French @androofrench 39s Understand Mattie Pollock has put in a transfer request. Clearly wants to get more game time. The 22-year-old has only started three times for #watfordfc and just 105 minutes this season, but had successful loans at Cheltenham and Aberdeen.
Now his best mate Healey's forced his way out he's presumably seen the light. I think it's as well if we move him on, though he might have to sit tight until the summer. It's frustrating really that on the few occasions Gino sanctions a move for a promising younger player in the lower divisions of the EFL they seem to turn out not quite good enough. Aberdeen fans seem to love him though so fingers crossed he gets a move back there.
I like his outward enthusiasm, but just doesn’t seem to have ever been in genuine contention to play in a CB pairing.
Already we have the first victim of Dennis' return and the ensuing squad disharmony. They will all have gone by 31/1....
Can't blame him, he's proven himself in the SPL and League One so hopefully he gets regular football somewhere. Good luck to him.

There is open talk of VI wanting another centre-back, a left footed one This would put Pollock even further down the pecking order if/when this transfer happens so it's no surprise he wants to leave
Got mixed feelings on this one, never been given a proper chance but a succession of managers don't seem to rate him enough to give him game time
A shame he's not left-footed, but then again, if he were, one of the bigger clubs would have picked him up as squad filler

I’ve always liked Pollock and was really pleased with his performance against Southampton. He does lack pace though which will get exploited. He’ll learn from experience how to read the game and hide his weaknesses over time I’m sure. I’d have no issue if he starts against Sheff Wed.

Kind of agree there. One decent game against a second string attack and he is the best thing since sliced bread.
Che Adams is their first choice striker and also had a guy they signed for £10m in attack. They also brought Adam Armstrong on. The reason Pollock is being hyped up is because he has a great attitude and Porteous and Sierralta are dreadful. It's time for him to have a go, only after a run of games will we know if he's really better than what we already have.
I don’t mind him having a go but I didn’t see much on Sunday to suggest he’s any better than our other CB rotation options to partner Hoedt.
